About thirty years ago I was there and except for the decor nothing else was changed. The same friendliness and banter, had the sandwiches and chips with Coffee while playing snooker. Had a good day.

THOUGH D ARCY MC GEES IS A LARGE ENOUGH PUB IT STILL MANAGED TO HAVE A.GOOD VIBE ATHMOSPHERE. THIS PUB CATERS FOR A WIDE AND DIVERSE  CUSTOMER CHILDREN WITH PARENTS SENIOR CITIZENS, TWENTY SOMETHINGS, PEOPLE PARTYING , PITCH AND PUTT CLUBS AND FUNERALS. DARCYS OFFER A GOOD MID PRICED PUB LUNCH AFTER FIVE YOU CAN PICK FROM A  LA CARTE MENU AS CARVERY LUNCH FINISHES AT THREE. A PUB IS ONLY AS GOOD AS ITS STAFF AND D MC GEES ARE ONTO A WINNER HERE. THE STAFF ARE FRIENDLY  HELPFUL AND FAST WITH THEIR SERVICE. THE PUB BOASTS MANY TV SCREENS SO SPORT ON THE CHANNELS ARE ON VIEW THROUGHOUT THE DAY. OUT IN A LITTLE SMOKING AREA I DISCOVERED WITH MY HUSBAND PADDY  RADIO MUSIC COMES FROM A STATION IN AMERICA THAT PLAYS GREAT CLASSIC VINTAGE MUSIC TONY BENNET NINA SIMONE SAMMY DAVIS JUNIOR.ELLA FITZGERALD. WE HAVE OFTEN ATE BRUNCH ON THIS AREA THOUGH NEITHER OF US SMOKE ! WE SIT THERE FOR THE MUSIC. THE LAST TIME WE WERE THERE WE TREATED FRIENDS TO A LATE BREAKFAST FOR THEIR FIFTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY! BEFORE ARTHUR AND BERNADINE ARRIVED WE ASKED OUR WAITRESS COULD SHE TAKE TWO JOKE MUGS SAYING MR RIGHT AND MRS ALWAYS RIGHT ! AND ASKED THE YOUNG GIRL COULD SHE PUT THE TEA OR COFFEE THEY ORDERED INTO THESE MUGS. SHE WAS MOST HELPFUL AND LATER BROUGHT FOOD TESS AND DRINKS TO.OUR TABLE QUIETLY AND QUICKLY. ON THURS FRIDAYS AND AT WEEKEND .YOU CAN LISTEN TO LIVE MUSIC.ACTS IN MAIN BAR. IF YOU WANT MORE PRIVACY YOU CANHIRE A ROOM.THAT WILL SEAT ABOUT FORTY PEOPLE. THE ONE FIFTY BUS AND THE 54a  SERVE A ROUTE THAT STOPS  ACROSS FROM THE GROUNDS OF D ARCY  MAGEES SO NO NEED TOALWAYS BRING A CAR

Went here for food. Lovely carvery. Great portions. Staff were excellent.
