Great selection but makes things a million times more complicated than it needs to be to try and make a purchase! Took a friend in to try and buy a corset, asked the seemingly simple question "I'm looking to buy one of our corsets, can you tell me what ones would fit we are looking for a size XX" there are no sizing on them, shop owner then launched into a tirade about how it will take an hour to fit for the proper corset and they won't tell customers their sizing and how a corset should be for life. We tried again, "We understand that, could you measure then so we know what ones we can purchase" to which the answer was "We don't discuss sizing with our customers" ... so how do you buy a corset!?!? Having said that they do have fantastic selection of clothing and its a shame their shop has halved in size over the last couple of years.
Warm, friendly, professional with the eloquent humour and downright honesty of a Glaswegian. My experience of cyber corsets has never been beaten. I bought my corset with the expert eye and advice from the heed wumin Carol. I explained what I was looking for in my dulcet tones of a trained monkey. Carol was able to decipher my moans, groans and complaints regarding what I was hoping, thinking, wishing for in a corset. Basically a magic wand. Well, Carol went about asking me questions, when I'll wear it, how I'll wear it, what I'll wear it with. I was waiting on her asking who I'd wear it for!! Anyway, Carol put me in 3 different corsets. Each time she came in with another corset it was adorned on me with dexterity and expertise. Carol was certainly entertaining and knowledgeable. These are the skills and natural talent of a dedicated, passionate, helpful artiste. What a seamstress! Now, I'll forgive anyone for thinking, "oh aye anything fur a sale", I run screaming towards the nearest exit when someone gives me the sale patter. I never felt under any pressure to buy at all whatsoever. Infact I secretly think all of the corsets lovingly made by Carol are her individual babies of creation. Ssssh. You see Carol will advise you infact deter you from purchasing one her corsets if she believes it to be unsuitable for you, doesn't fit you properly, wrong reasons for wanting one. AND! AND! Here is the killer she will not let you waste your MONEY! Besides these babies need to be respected, looked after, valued. Why? Or shall I say How? In my West of Scotland dialect. Because a good corset should last a lifetime. Thats HOW! Oh aye we'll see. Well actually I do see. Today I went into Cyber and asked about corsets. But ladies and laddies the experience I have just written about happened 10 years ago. I went into the shop looking to buy another corset. I told her that I have one. I didn't tell her where I bought it BTW. I was told that I wouldn't need another one and not to waste my money. Eh? Scuze me? Er hello easy sale here . True to her word. Carol thank you. My corset gave me the ability to walk tall, stand up straight without pain down the aisle to my future husband 6 years ago this month. X God Bless you Carol. X
Hubby and I had costumes to find for a special event, not only did the owner know just what we needed and what would fit but when we didn't have enough time to order accessories in, she went next door to Mr Ben's and found us something that would work. She made sure we knew how to care for our purchases and what to look for when buying. Don't think I'll bother going anywhere else now though.
