Official page of Cwmtawe Community School, an 11-16 secondary school based in Pontardawe, Swansea.

Story

Cwmtawe was originally created as a comprehensive school in 1969 by combining all the secondary schools in the area. It was moved into purpose built premises in 1996 and now benefits from accomodation and facilities which are second to none. We currently have 1260 pupils on roll with many year groups oversubscribed.

Over the past ten years, the school has gone from strength to strength exceeding both National and Local Authority levels. In fact, data provided byYellisandFisher Family Trustplaces Cwmtawe within the top 5% of schools in the UK for value added and as a result Cwmtawe was presented with the prestigious ACCAC award for 'Most Improved School' during 2005.

My two daughters have been through this school with no problems at all. Teacher are brilliant. My boy is just going into year 10 in September.nI'm the lollipop lady in Swansea road. Cwmtawe children are all happy and polite.nFantastic school and fantastic community
I think this school is decent but there are definitely more problems than things that are good the teachers for one do not treat pupils as equal they do not have mutual respect it is always slated by certain teachers that pupils can speak offensively or speak with attitude which is not the case it’s more of the other way around. Bulliying is a major problem which does not get dealt with properly the toilets are a state of concern as they are exetremly unhygienic. My personal experience with how teachers treat pupils as I have been misjudged even been grabbed also Mr Evans has always bullied my friend which name I will not reveal. He has bullied him by fat shaming and insulting comments. This list can go on.
this is a real bad school i got bullied so bad i had to leave and the school didn't do anything about it. a lot of bullying goes on in this school because the same thing that happened to me happened to my step cousin and my cousin and 5 of my old friends. Dont send your child here send them to Pentrehafod in swansea i go there now and its a much better school.
Im being generous giving one star as they don't deserve that , I'm totally disgusted with the way this school let's bulling to continue. And infact are on the bullies get away with it , This school is a joke you should hold your head down in shame. Hope you read this and start taking responsibility that you're school has a big problem.
Cwmtawe is ableist, never taught me anything and is terrible for pupils' mental health and wellbeing. Me along with all my friends who attended that school hate it.nnIf you care about your child and have the option to attend another school please do not send your child there.
