In a lovely location, with a wide variety of fresh, canned, and frozen food. A fabulous cafe with freshly made dinner. A very nice place to visit.
Very impressive! My first visit here. All veg beautifully displayed, clean and fresh with so much choice. The meat is so lean, excellent quality. There are jars of preservatives and sauces etc that are homemade and look amazing and.. there is a cafe with all freshly cooked 'farm food' and I had a breakfast which was really tasty. Beautiful views out of the window and a free large car park.
Wanted to review after visiting today as having visited many times while growing up we wanted to take advantage of the take away Sunday roast service that is now being provided since the pandemic. Family and I have always enjoyed in the past but personally I felt the atmosphere has changed around the roast section negatively; clearly the gentleman carving the meat does not enjoy his work and it shows. I read on other reviews people are under the impression he is the owner, and if so he's ruining the experience and should take a managerial role away from the customers and general public. Other staff working on the section are so lovely and helpful but clearly on edge, as this gentleman is miserable and rude to customers. Also, as there are rules surrounding the carvery the need for signs closer to the food is abundant, as that clearly stating that only 2 meats are available out of 4 or 5 is burdensome for the managing gentleman. Understandably repeating this all morning must be an annoyance but stating it with such arrogance and annoyance as if you should already know, when it isn't clearly stated, made me uncomfortable and just gave off rudeness. The price was also a little high, at £14 per adult meal, when there are only 2 small portions of meat, one relatively small spoonful of each veg, 4 roasties and one Yorkshire pudding which were large but totally flat barely filling the take away tin. Very happy though to recieve a separate box of gravy with each meal, and a reusable take away box holder that we could keep. Food quality has been better in the past and portion size has decreased but the meal was enjoyable. Visited the shop to buy cream and had a positive experience with welcoming staff. 2 stars for the other positive staff members and quality of food and cream.
Terrible experience. Walked in with my children. One of them picked up a toy elf. The owner who was working on the food counter screamed across the food hall at my child. I have never been so embarrassed. I put my shopping down to leave as I will not give my money to a place that treats families like this. The owner seen I was going to leave and started shouting more abuse at us. I can't believe anyone would speak to another person like this. I know it wasn't me or my children as a lot of the customers come out to check on us. One gentleman even walked back in to confront the owner. Horrible experience. Please avoid
Bacon so good my mum is going back tomorrow. Easy access from the road, good layout and friendly staff. Possible improvements: - be more dog friendly - allow card payments under £5
Absolutely disgusting attitude towards someone's children by the owner. I watched someone's children pickup some teddy's only to be shouted at by the owner and then to listen to him tell the mother if she couldn't control her children they should "get out". Along with her I also put my basket back and will not be visiting again. Definitely not children friendly. Be aware!!!
Went here for sunday lunch Ridiculously small portions 2 tiny slices of meat on a small plate £15 a head for adults and £10 for a kids wouldn't make a decent sized dinner between them and the man carving the meat was exceptionally rude yorkshire puds were more like pancakes definitely will not be going back there are plenty of better place's to go
Why don't they read there reviews and learn from them ,I know they say farmers are tight, the price of food is that of a posh restaurant, which this is not.the portions are small, and the man cutting the meat looks like he doesn't want you to have it at all, and pie some times you'll have meat in it.
Love coming here. Always something to buy or eat. The food is really nice.
Fabulous Sunday lunch, really tender meat and vegetables were lovely. Favourite was cauliflower cheese!! Definitely recommend it
