I'm getting fed up of trying to take a train from Cwmbran to Cardiff and finding no spaces in the carpark! I then have to drive so defeats the object of trying to have less cars on the road and use public transport! I see something is being built opposite what a crazy idea it should be an expended carpark for the station.
The worst part is the parking, its almost impossible to find a space within the railway car park as commuters have taken them all early in the morning. If you park somewhere you really shouldn't because your train is due shortly, you return to a large notice glued across your windscreen!
Pretty charmless railway station with associated cafe with very limited food offer . never enough car parking space,always full by 9.30am. Saved by the brilliant staff who are really helpful and always friendly.
Not a bad station. Walking distance to town centre, but there is a taxi rank and local bus pick up just outside doors.nTicket machine available along with a part time staffed ticket office.nSmall cafe availablenPlenty of free parking with some disabled spaces. Disability access to north bound platform is good, but not from southbound. There is a footbridge to other platform, but wheelchair users would have a long trek to get to other side. Not sure if staff would have some other route.
