If i could leave no stars i would, i have won from auctions all over the UK for a number of years now and can honestly say this auction house and the staff are the most dishonest i have ever had the misfortune to come into contact with. Items are damaged when you go to collect, staff are so rude and unhelpful. AVOID there are lots of other far superior to these jokers. COWBOYS is an understatement.
Very negative experience , items I viewed being perfect on the viewing day but two had unfortunately been damaged at some point after . At no point was I informed . I was met with a barrage of aggression from the staff when highlighting this . I wont be returning here I'm keeping with Halls who deliver a totally different level of service . This place really is the " The auction house that Jack built "
Again following on from my previous reviews within the auction circuits this is a good auction house for some good items. Recently bought a few items and missed out on others. One slight problem was the auction catalogue didnt get published until the day before the auction, and also lots of items still were missing online, so it was quite for me to get the right research done when you are in the trade of antiques and collectables research is key Still i would say the staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Also we were fortunate as it was also a market day so had stalls outside selling their wares too.
I have attended this auction a few times and brought items off line. I have been inside a large room to view items before the auction starts. It seems well organised. I enjoyed browsing. The staff: The gents seems happy and approachable however the two elderly ladys are not very happy characters. They look, when you walk in then look away. They never seem happy or smile..its a shame they are not happy, as attending , is a nice experience to have. Please visit if you pass. They do take a fee but that is normal when selling an item. They also offer FREE valuations by email, or pop in and they will arrange a time, to value items you have to sell. Would say they are competitive with valuations.
Dreadful. I will never use this auction house again. Too lazy to post a brass pencil case, even though I checked out their shipping policy before bidding. Staff are rude and put Customer Service so low down, it’s hard to call it Customer Service at all. Stay away or bid at your peril. Also check out the reviews on Facebook as they are more honest than these Google ones. Just wish I’d read them beforehand. There are so many wonderful Auction Houses out there, who are kind and accommodating. Don’t just settle for this lot.
Perfect place to lose money. Bad experience.
We’ve been to their auctions a few times, and it can be a lot of fun, as long as you don’t get carried away. Cuttlestones have been doing it a while, and are a slick and professional company. We’ve bought quite a few items over the years, never on line, the fun’s in being there. I’d recommend the experience.
Never know what you're going to find! Great local auction house, helpful and professional staff.Good online access to sales and info.
If I could award no stars I would. Basically I bought a mixed lot of DVDs and games from this auction house. At least that was the description. On receipt approximately 40% of the lot were empty boxes. Some others were so scratched as to be unusable. I am not stupid I expect some items to be missing but not that amount. I contacted Cuttlestones regarding this matter and received frankly what I expected. That is the terms of their conditions not accepting any responsibility or liability. I decided to follow this up with a phone call to the manager who responded Harry Wilson. I outlined we were not talking of a couple of items missing but a significant amount and how was the description of DVDs and games a reflection of the lot sold when most were empty. He at the time appeared conciliatory and said he would make some enquiries and get back to me. He not on my instigation said a partial refund may be appropriate. He promised to come back to me with the outcome Well I am still waiting for that update. I am afraid customer service of that low quality only meets the description of get the irate customer off the phone at all costs. I'd never dealt with Cuttlestones previously and won't be in the future. I was more willing to feel initially that the seller of the items had taken advantage of lockdown to sell a load of rubbish knowing there was no viewing. I accept I was naive and could have asked for a condition report but I did not expect ineptitude of this level and to be let down by the auction house as well. I would like to highlight that I am not looking for any refund that ship has well and truly sailed but want to warn others as never has the phrase caveat emptor been more appropriate
A great place to buy and sell. The staff make everything really easy whether you are buying or selling and they offer a very efficient service. Payment is prompt and a full invoice is issued. Large car park, nearby cafe and toilets.
