Cutter and Squidge

About

Home of Dream Cakes, Biskie and a unique Afternoon Tea! All Natural Bakery. Find us in Soho and Shop Online.

Story

Cutter and Squidge all began from a ‘compact’ kitchen in North West London. We are two sisters with a family food background who love to cook, bake and generally create a kitchen mess*.

We are a bit health conscious and are not fans of overly fatty or sugar laden foods, so we always keep our fat and sugar content to “just as much as needed to make something delicious” .

Our passion is to invent new products or recreate time honoured classics and experiment with flavours so that we can offer our take on old favourites alongside cutting edge taste sensations.

We hope you enjoy what we produce and thank you very much for your support.
Made with love,

Cutter & Squidge

*TIP: when you’ve managed to pour a bowl of flour on the kitchen floor you can either be sensible and get the vacuum out… or pour water on it and make a gloopy kind of floor pie and mop it up that way- much more fun but we wouldn’t suggest actually baking it!

Mission

We are a London based innovative bakery.

We make everything from scratch and where possible we use real British ingredients or source from British producers where we can’t. Our eggs are always free range and, along with our butter (mmm butttter), sourced from home counties farms.

We don’t use any margarine or hydro what do you call ‘em fats and certainly no preservatives… we haven’t had any left over at the end of the day so we really can’t see the point!

Our flavourings and colourings are all natural… the hulk green of our green tea biskie is purely from the premium grade matcha tea we use and our crazy pink raspberry biskie… that’s all pure raspberry!

We believe in using the best natural ingredients… full stop!

Products

Signature biskie, celebration cakes, confectionery & soft icecream.
All our products are 100% natural and contain no artificial colourings & Flavourings. They are also suitable for vegetarians and are alcohol free.

I've came to try their vegan options. They had 1 vegan and raspberry sponge cake that was delicious. I think one of the best cakes I ate lately. Aside from it's beautiful look, the cake was very soft and the raspberry filling was delicious. The place is pretty and beautifully design, only down side they don't accept paper cash and there is no WiFi.
Myself and my boyfriend visited today after being given this experience by a friend. Thank God we did not pay for it ourselves! Basically, £50 for a few sandwiches and juice. The sandwiches were very basic not much filling and not very nice and we were also given a supermarket Yorkshire pudding that had barely been defrosted. The first "potion" consisted of mixing three diluted fruit juices together in a beaker. I understand that the coasters used to light up and flash multi colours. Ours didn't, when the lights went off and we were just left confused in darkness. The scones were okay, but not good. We understand they used to provide cakes, they don't anymore. Finally the second "potion" wasn't a potion, it was just basic vanilla ice-cream served in a cauldron with a few chocolate balls. Mine had melted so I was just eating watery vanilla ice-cream. I felt so sorry for those who paid the £20 extra for the VIP ticket. They got one cocktail you could buy for £9 and a few sweets in a bag. One good thing I would say is the girl trying to get us into it had good energy and was entertaining for a bit. For the price, this is a total scam
We booked the magical afternoon tea experience in the Cutter & Squidge potion room and were blown away by the service, and food. Our professor was excellent in guiding the interactive cocktail making while the prefects ensured the afternoon tea service went without a hitch. The food and cakes were wonderful and the staff did an amazing job handling a rather unruly and overly entitled family group, so that it didn’t spoil the experience for the rest of us. I would recommend this intimate experience for any magic fans out there
We came for the vegan afternoon tea for 2 and it was delicious! The staff were all incredibly attentive and kind! Our highlights were the pudding pot YOU HAVE TO TRY IT - never had a vegan pudding this good and the scones how do they make them so buttery? The clotted cream was also unbelievable. Such a lovely experience overall and definitely recommend it!
I ordered a cake for delivery from Cutter & Squidge. This cake is wheat free and vegan, it is also soy free which is great as we have a few allergies in the family. The cake was a lemon and berry cake, it was delicious, light and sweet. Wheat free cakes can often be crumbly but this cake was perfect. The kids loved it too. Definitely recommend for those with dietary restrictions.
Popped into Cutter & Squidge for a quick bite to eat, was invited in by the sight of cakes, with a mix of dairy and non-dairy treats, I ordered the lemon and blueberry vegan cheesecake, which was a treat. Good texture and not too sweet, though when they cut the piece of cake in half for my slice, I was a little gutted! Did take out, but unsure if they provide cutler.
So my sis in law sent me brownies on my birthday from c&s last year and probably the best brownies I have had ever! Then this year she sent me macaroons and also the best! Well run family business trying their best. I understand people need to review fairly but some reviews are so out of order - for goodness sake stop expecting perfection; this is a hardworking small business not The Savoy!
I just wanted to say that the cake we ordered was simply DIVINE! It was by far the most delicious cake I've tasted. The online booking was seamless, delivery exceptional and cutters and squidge simply outranked most cake companies I know.
Came here for the potions room afternoon tea. Had a lovely time and the place is very well decorated - you do get the feeling you're at an unnamed fictional wizardry school. I would have liked more traditional tea options like pure white tea or puer etc but otherwise I enjoyed my tea tray.
I ordered three cakes for my small wedding and they tasted amazing! We had s'mores, lemon and blueberry, and chocolate chip cookie cakes and they all got devoured. We were a bit worried about the cakes being damaged in delivery but they were perfect. Thank you!
