Cobwebs in my room, steep stairs with slippery plastic mats on the treads, extension leads plugged into extension leads and multi block mains plugs, which the lady said she will change in future. Tired decor. Loose tap in bathroom. Breakfast included was an egg sandwich, a full breakfast was extra money, but I just wanted to get out of there so didn't have any. Bed was comfortable but only accessible from one side as the room was quite small. The host was pleasant enough but I guess I was expecting something entirely different based on other reviews I had read.
Amazing amazing... immaculate rooms, specialized catering with unique presentation. Warm and friendly atmosphere. Close to local shops and amenities Spacious and relaxing both inside and outside. Ideal for family, couples. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
An amazing and warm host. The host went the extra mile to ensure I could watch something on tv, which otherwise would not have been available to me. Her food is a culinary experience and always excellent of generous portion. The room was spacious and I felt like I was home. The location is just a short walk from the shops and bus stop and very convenient to get where I needed. Highly recommend and I can’t wait to come back.
I am a regular visitor to this area and having found Jackie's lovely bespoke Airbnb, I have now stayed a total of six nights on separate trips.nJackie herself is a wonderful, warm, caring person who I now count as a friend and a sister. Despite being one of the hardest working people I have ever met, she always has time to chat and is genuinely interested in her guests.nHer food is top-notch and she caters for the individual, remembering your likes and dislikes, and your dietary requirements. I know that many of her guests, like me, return again and again.nHer home is warm, cosy and very clean, and you are made to feel like family. It is the little touches that make you feel so welcome; for example, when I went to bed, arriving after a long drive, I found she had put an electric blanket on for me so I was toasty warm - not that my room was cold by any means!nThe location is excellent, with easy access to the A1 and not too far from the M1. In the local area are Sherwood Forest, Clumber Park, the historic market town of Retford, and Nottingham is close by. Closer still are shops and supermarkets, as well as many cafes and restaurants.nAs a solo female traveller I feel very safe in Jackie's home. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I'm in the area, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
We stayed 1 night here for a wedding, really nice room jackie the host is very accommodating an a nice friendly person would stay again if needed.
