A hidden gem. Pleasant walk along the side of an old quarry. There is a small free car park. Plenty of chances to capture photos of the local wildlife, with decent bird hide (see photo) overlooking the water.

2 bird hides. The best one the other side of the railway. Well suited opposite the National Memorial Arboretum. It gets muddy underfoot. It is not possible to walk right around the lake. When the water level is high, the birds are not so interesting but in April and May it can be a magical place. Good cafe and toilets at the Memorial Arboretum. If you are not going to spend money in the cafe, then make a contribution.
