Lovely bed and breakfast to stay for a short trip in the countryside. I attended a wedding nearby and stayed here overnight. The staff are friendly, the house is well maintained and while the rooms definitely show their age, it's a charm and style that suites this farmhouse manor. The gardens outside have plenty of seating if the weather is nice. The fry up in the morning was great and I'd stay here again if my business brought me this way.
Stayed for the night with dinner. The atmosphere here is just unbelievable, a little place out of time but with all comforts. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean, the bed is very comfortable. Dinner was outstanding, from the starters we had the trio of pates, very well presented and delicate, and the leek and bacon pie - which was sublime but could have made without the tomato sauce. We then had a very good sweet potato soup, and meat mains - an extremely tender pork roulade with a great chestnut sauce, and guinea fowl, which we also loved. Desserts too were great, both the chocolate praline and the frozen citrus - delicate but definitely tasty, the perfect way to end the meal. Liked that there were different options for half bottles of wine - the wine list isn't huge, but for such a small place it is probably not possible to have more. Breakfast was great too - coffe, jam, marmalade and toast were great - full English is available too! We definitely recommend this place - make sure you have the full b&b experience!
Very nice hotel and quieter than expected being on the main road which is a busy one. Lovely garden. Missed out on their restaurant as its not open on Sundays and Mondays. Room was fine, the bed firm. Good breakfast. Would go back if in the region.
Another fantastic stay at crossways hotel. This has now become a custom for our wedding anniversary! The food is exceptional, the service is faultless and the accommodation is spotless and very, very comfortable.extremely good value for money.
Stayed one night whilst visiting friends in the Wishing Well cottage over the road. Whilst having a whole cottage with fantastic kitchen was good, was a bit odd having to share with other guests we had our own big bathroom with shower and bath Breakfast was good and staff very friendly. Bit pricey £168 with breakfast but probably due to the area and proximity to Glyndebourne
Having spent our wedding night here 13 years ago it's taken us this long to come back for an anniversary meal! But we left it too long, and now intend to come back at least once a year! Being caterers ourselves food and drink is our specialist subject and favourite pastime, and what we loved about Crossways was far more than just exceptional food. You can tell that they put their heart and passion into everything. Brilliantly fancy food without poncy service or intimidating price lists. Little touches such as home made canapé, soup course, free top up of coffee & petit fours just adds to the experience, making it totally worth the £41 per head for a set menu. A really refreshing change from any other restaurant that we've been to, a unique experience, and with only 6 tables you really feel like an individual rather than just a punter. Lovely people, lovely feel about the place. Almost impossible to catergorise, which is its charm without a doubt. A restaurant with HEART.
This is a very well kept place: professional and friendly. David couldn't do enough to make us feel at home. It is set back but on the main road so there is traffic noise but ear plugs are supplied for those who need them.
Dinner here with three friends. Excellent menu, very tasty food with excellent serice. Highly recommended.
Just perfect! Superb service and the most delicious food, David and Clive always ensure a wonderful evening. Thank you!
Debbie and I stayed there in June 2012 for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was superb and the attentiveness of wonderful.
