Amazing from start to finish. Lovely warm welcome, cracking bar, immaculate could eat off any surface immaculate rooms and sensational food. Cracking value, 3 course dinner, bed, huge breakfast and drinks for change out of £120. The staff were the highlight. Owners and employees alike, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended
An absolute delight for lunch. Beef and ale pie proper pie a delight. Desserts fabulous . Staff and service excellent . Dog friendly comfortable, clean and tidy. Will definitely be back.Service: 5/5
Called in for a Sunday afternoon meal, 2 of us and a small dog. Fantastic food and great staff, will return again when next in the area.
Lovely traditional bar with open fire and excellent beer availability, even has a wee pool table and showed all the sport we asked for 1st class

The male staff who normally serves is quite slow but on our last visit the lady was so cheery and helpful. Lovely cuppa with a couple of pieces of tray bake makes a change from the scones that we normally get offered! Noteworthy details: This hotel is situated in the pretty village of Denholm in the Scottish Borders.
Stopped in for food mid afternoon after looking in Howick and being disappointed. The food and service was excellent. Definitely going back again when we are next in the area.Service: 5/5
Came here for a meal. Sat in the beer garden wanted order food however if you sit in the beer garden you can only order from the limited takeaway menu which I think is bad service. The food from the takeaway menu was bad, burger was tiny with a very cheap supermarket bought burger roll that was falling to bits and a handful of chips. The steak and ale pie had a lot of grissle and chewy fatty bits. Maybe the food is better inside. But who wants to sit inside on a nice day. If you sit in the beer garden expect to be treated as second class to the rest of the customers. Food took 35 minutes. This use to be great place when visited sometime ago. But not now. Sadly I won't be back.
We called here for an evening meal which was delicious. The staff were very welcoming and soon had us seated. It was early evening but the lounge and restaurant were already getting busy. The public areas were smart and fresh. We could not fault the food or the service. We will definitely return.Rooms: 5/5
