Cromars
"Established in St. Andrew’s in 2013, Cromars serves high quality, fresh produce, which is delivered daily by our suppliers J K Thompson and Ivan Woods. We pride ourselves in serving the best fish supper accompanied by our homemade tartare sauce, mushy peas and wedge of lemon. This is all prepared by our fantastic and friendly team. We take the simplest of things, and do it to high standards. You can then enjoy our outdoor seating area which is under a canopy and has external heaters or take it to our favourite little beach which is only a five minute walk! Plus we are family friendly and a dog friendly restaurant, so no need to tie your dog up outside."

Great Fish and Chips the staff are really friendly. I really recommend this place if you want a good chippy. Please don't go to "The Tailend restaurant" the staff there are not so welcoming especially when not busy. Anyways its a great experience here, fantastic food the Fish is fresh and just flakes when biting through the kids loved it I HIGHLY recommend this place for Fish and Chips. You will NOT be disappointed!
Nothing special. We were hyped up based on the photos and reviews but disappointed. The only thing we liked was that it was made to order which shows freshness. However the taste was nothing better than our local chippy in Glasgow. Batter was hard. Don’t do gravy which I found unusual and the person taking our order could only give change in 5 pences £4s worth.
Average and overpriced. The quality was definitely down today. The fish was just ok, the chips were all tiny stragglers. We asked for ketchup and were given the absolute weirdest “ketchup” we’ve ever seen. Who knew “ketchup” could be bright pink glue! Boagggg
Tasty fresh fish & chips. Made to order. Mushy peas here always shine.
Just travelled up from livingston to get a nice fidsh supper as we have been many times before. We usually share our experiences from eating here with friends and family as it’s usually great. My kid got a sausage supper and couldn’t eat it, Said it tasted funny. My wife got Macaroni and chips and only picked at the macaroni. My fish supper was absolutely terrible. The chips are just mush. Soaked in grease and tasteless. Tried to speak to someone in the shop on the phone for over an hour and just getting an engaged tone. £33 for absolute junk I wouldn’t give to the seagulls. Garbage
Bought this fish supper tonight. It was £18 for a jumbo fish supper irn bru and tartare sauce. This was a carryout. It wasn’t just the price but the fish wasn’t jumbo and it was cheap quality. The chips were reheats. Couldn’t eat them they were so hard. Won’t be going back and would advise you not to waste your money and give it a JUMBO body swerve.
Lovely chips, crispy and tasted very fresh, not greasy at all. Only given 4 stars as not as nice as some other chips shops in the area but would definitely come back if in St Andrews, Update Jan 2023 still lovely chips, golden crispy and not at all greasy. Lovely chips if in St Andrew's
Great service. Very fast. Reasonable pricing. Definitely recommend the white pudding supper. And the one who served us definitely didn't skimp on the salt and vinegar when I asked for lots and the curry sauce is just perfect for dippingFood: 5/5
Must be the best chippy in town! We've tried the rival chippy a few minutes away and it wasn't as good as Cromars. The chips and calamari are wonderful, crispy and not too greasy. The fish is crispy but we prefer the filet to be thicker. Service is great and the staff serve you with a smile which is lovely. The place is also dog-friendly which is a huge plus.
Love this quaint place. Simple fish and chips. Batter is light and fish tasty.Food: 5/5
