Croham Hurst Golf Club Successors
"Croham Hurst Golf Club is a friendly and welcoming club that was founded in 1911. The 18 hole, par 71, parkland course was designed by Fred Hawtree and five times Open Champion, James Braid.Whether on the course or in the clubhouse, there is a sense of history, and a wonderfully warm sensation of being completely at home. It is a very special corner of Surrey, close to London and Croydon, boasting the outstanding natural beauty that once adorned most of the county."

Joining Croham has been a revelation and I would attribute the joy that I've felt to Adam Aram, the Club's Golf Pro. I commend Adam to you. To provide some colour: - from Day One, Adam has been welcoming, friendly and encouraging. Golf is an intimidating sport for a novice but owing to Adam's sense of fun and his infectious enthusiasm, he makes it feel like it belongs to you and not just those entrenched in the game from an early age or through the generations. - Adam is a phenomenal teacher. He's nurturing, considered, thoughtful, patient, inspiring and listens so intently that you simply can't miss that he's utterly invested in doing everything in his power to make you a better golfer. Adam has imbued me with confidence. There hasn't been an ounce of frustration from Adam, he's just kept chipping away forgive the pun, motivating me and exhorting me to improve. -I can't begin to articulate how much I've enjoyed my lessons with Adam. In addition to everything else, he's an awesome bloke, the best of us and that's absolutely priceless. If I was scoring Adam, I'd give him 6096 out of 6096. It won't have escaped you that that's the course yellow yardage. I play at the weekends and Adam is brilliantly assisted in the Pro Shop at weekends by Portia. Like Adam, Portia is wonderful, fun, joyous and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Between the two of them, it's just a fantastically welcoming environment.
We had a sit down meal for 34 for our mother’s 90th birthday at Croham Hurst Golf Club recently. I would like to thank Joe, Jen, and all the staff and kitchen for making it a memorable evening. Food was excellent a choice of three dishes per course, chosen in advance and nothing was too much trouble, before or during the evening.
The best ground around south London close to Croydon easy to reach by any form of transport ,,,so you can amaze and impress your family, or friends,,get merry and relax ,,,they will make sure to look after you and send you home safely dress smart casual....and enjoy yourself...
Golf only review I did not eat in the restaurant: I arrived Saturday, and American on layover in London looking for a place to play within public transport from Gatwick. The staff and members received me with utmost kindness, especially the woman in the pro shop. She was extremely accommodating in getting me on the course though I had not booked an advance time. The course was beautiful - not overly challenging, but in good condition despite overnight rain, and I appreciated the variety between holes. After the round, members I chatted with on the course invited me to sit for a beer and were warm and welcoming despite my being a stranger. Nice to feel welcome on a golf course half a planet away from home. Hope to be back again some time.
Greens just had some maintenance so a bit sandy but lovely course and very friendly staff. I would definitely play again.
Really great Sunday lunch jazz sessions with Pete Long & bands! Delicious food & marvellous service! You don't have to play golf for this!
Not well sign posted at night got there in the end not a bad place to have a party and finish too early.
Considering the time of year - mid-December and a a fair bit of rain over the days prior to playing - the course was in remarkable condition. The greens were very good, fairways in good condition and very little standing water, heavy mud or softness under foot. Very impressed. Welcoming clubhouse and pro shop and the members we met on the course were all friendly and helpful. Definitely play again.
Friendly staff and members. Course played well. They'd stopped trolleys and closed the small range so not as good as last visit. Luckily could get back home for standbag. Others weren't as lucky or happy.
My partner was late but the lady in the pro shop did everything she could to organise it so we could play without disrupting the flow of the day. Huge thank you to her .
