It was raining and gloomy outside, so we made a bolt for this place with our dog. Couldn't have picked better, friendly staff and patrons, warm next to an open fire. Perfect stop off when spending a day in Sandwich, which is a beautiful Kentish town.
Very tasty food in a relaxed environment, would recommend for sure and will be returning. I had the chicken and veg soup, delicious and the burger also very nice.
We had lunch here today with friends. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The fires were lit, a lovely welcome on such a cold day. We will definitely return. We are so lucky we have such a lovely pub/restaurant in Sandwich. Thank you we had a lovely time
4 of us had lunch in here, 1 jacket potatoes, 1 fish pie, 1 cottage pie and 1 ham egg and chips, all served in a timely manor. Staff were polite and friendly. Best dinner for us was the ham egg and chips.
Burger was delicious, staff were friendly, ciabatta lunch wasn't good though- bread burnt, steak overcooked, no sauce or cheese, onions were not caramelised just lightly fried. I did tell them and the staff gave us 10% off which was fine, but it would have been nicer to have a great meal. When we were there I noticed a couple walk out due to being told that service for food would be slow due to a large booking, but it would have made more sense to get extra staff in, if the other people had prebooked. Overall it doesn't seem as good as it used to be.
Great staff, lovely atmosphere, and nice beer selection. Decided to sample the menu and was not disappointed. Will be visiting again
We enjoyed our evening meal wonderful service from very friendly staff. The food was excellent and good quality with an excellent menu the dining room was excellent and well spaced tables very comfortable. We shall return soon
Lunch on Sunday was very average. Vege Wellington was not a good choice as the pastry was undercooked. When we left, my cousin forgot her handbag but didn't remember that is where she left it. I have never come across a place that would not call and tell you, your handbag had been found. Especially as they had her number. She called Tuesday and yes, they said it was there. ????
Dropped in on a saturday night for dinner with the family while staying at a nearby hotel. OMG so happy we did, food was absolutely amazing and service was really good. Sad we dont live nearby but definitely one to make a trip for if in the area again.
Lovely staff excellent atmosphere, even entertainment watching a light bulb changed. Sure there's a joke how many barmen to change a ?. Nice pub.
