We called here for a coffee on a whim and I have to say I am impressed with this coffee shop. The staff were professional, the atmosphere was nice and the layout was welcoming. The coffee itself was nice and the area was clean. The music was not overwhelming like other places, I would note that the cost of the cakes was a little high and there was no options for those with allergies.
Dropped in by chance this afternoon and I must say was very impressed! Nicest coffee in a long time, sumptuous cake and great service! Will definitely be returning would highly recommend Kid-friendliness: Yes child friendly Parking: A few metres from open air car park Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair access and toilet
Overall good first experience here. We arrived an hour early for our entrance time to Tecniquest where this coffee shop is conveniently located. Nice atmosphere and decor, airy and open with good views of the bay. Well priced, £37 for 4 sandwiches, 4 hot drinks and 4 small cakes 2 Adults, 2 Children and a baby. The only things that spoilt this experience. 1. Disabled Access is a NO due to the 2-3 steps from the entrance level jot to the counter. I’m not sure how this is allowed or what the process is for managing disabled clients? We had to bunny hop or push chair up to the steps which in these modern times the public shouldn’t be required to do. 2. My newborn baby is Dairy and Lactose intolerant. I am making a point of getting used to getting dairy alternatives NOW whilst out and about in our daily lives. One of this changes is my coffee. I now always resort to a Oat Milk based coffee. On this visit I ordered a Mocha which their unquestionably made with Oat Milk - but then dressed without asking or checking the drink with chocolate swirls - containing dairy! That’s the equivalent of making a dairy free cheese sandwich, but using normal butter. A serious review of your internal practise and team talk regarding the importance of allergies is required.
I go to a lot of coffee shops on my travels, and I must say I wasn't overly impressed with this one. A young woman served us and, for some reason, had an attitude, unsure if she was having a bad day, but if she was, it certainly showed in her service. When asking to heat up a panini for me, she then asked my friend, "Was hers with mine to which my friend replied no I'm paying separate." The woman serving us then said but your sitting together, aren't you? we said yes she took my friends order to heat and rolled her eyes. I found this extremely rude and, having not visited this establishment before, did not know what the protocol was. The paninis were also quite expensive at over £5 I would expect them to be delicious, but unfortunately, they were extremely dry to the point that it got stuck in my throat. I wouldn't come here again. I have never left a bad review, but I literally can't stop thinking about the bad attitude we received today. I had to bring it to the attention of whoever employs staff.
Ordered hot chocolate. But it was not good. Below average taste. The chocolate powder is too less. Hence the taste is not chocolatey enough.Food: 1/5
Fantastic service! Very friendly with well priced food and awesome coffee. A real find down at the bay!Food: 5/5
Always a pleasure to visit Coffee Mania, we were saddened when it moved from the main area at Cardiff Bay as it was the ultimate place to people watch. It has now relocated near Tecniquest and on this occasion you can sit indoors. The ambiance is decorated in a coffee hue thst matches the aroma of their wonderful coffee, the staff are very attentive along with Happy smiles. It is alo rare to sit and not be confronted with dirty tables. As you can see I like this place and missed it on our walks great to be back. Paul PRJPHOTOGRAPHY
Lovely atmosphere and well located for techniquest but omg, so expensive. Also, the straws are single use plastic. I thought they'd been banned?
Amazing food, coffee and service and incredible Waffles . This independent coffee shop beats any of the chain ones and I can’t wait to go back.
One of my favourite coffee stops in Cardiff and definitely an essential stop for us when we ride round the bay with my little girl she loves the chocolate brownie and hot chocolate. Good choice of food and drink. Really friendly atmosphere. What more do you want.
