absolutely hated it! the mixed starter for 2 is monotonous and everything tastes the same. It could be a week old and no one would know a difference as the fat was literally all over. £5 is an absolute rip off! we had to throw everything away. let alone the sauce..;/The main course was really small and not worth the price... 2 chunks of duck and the 2nd with king prawn was soaked in water. definitely a place we would not recommend to order from! we paid nearly £ 20 for something that ended in the rubbish bin. i wonder how this place is making any money with this horrific quality of food. DO NOT ORDER!!!! there are several other places serving much better food
After waiting 50 minutes for the food to arrive, and spending another 20 minutes explaining to the delivery driver how to arrive at the house I finally received the luke warm food I had ordered over an hour before. Living outside of walking distance but no more than a 10 minute drive, even with heavy traffic, I cannot fathom as to why to took nearly an hour and thirty minutes for the food to arrive. Once it finally had arrived, the order was not complete. I was missing my soup and sweet and sour pork, I called the "restaurant" to be informed that the driver would be on his way in the next 5 minutes. 45 minutes and several phone calls later the food arrived. Finally with my food here I tucked in, I had started already whilst waiting for the remainder of my food to arrive, the food was bland and very greasy. Understandably I was not expecting for it to be a gleaming 5* meal though this was near inedible. I spent a total of 27.75 for 4 dishes, which I was accused of not having paid when the delivery man arrived for the second time. Overall for a quiet Thursday takeaway, this was truly awful. The food was tasteless, consumed only on the basis that it was the only food in the house. The service from the restaurant was nearly as bad and the delivery driver was a reflection of this.
Really authentic Chinese food in Oxford!! Friendly staff and the Cantonese boss is really nice. Believe me, as a Chinese student I recommended this restaurant to each of my friends. What’s wrong with the grading system of google maps? Can’t believe the score is that low.
When I visited at a lunch time, it was slightly crowded. However, I couldn’t understand such a long waiting time longer than 40mins for only 1 dish. Also, the food was terrible. I ordered the sour and sweet folk, but I couldn’t find the folk. There were only very small pieces of fried folks. I wasted my whole lunch time waiting for the worst food!
Absolutely not an ideal place to go. The meat they gave is totally unrecognisable and very likely to be offal, joint, or tripe. They're just too greedy, wanting you to pay a lot but with no intention to give you something deserves the money. Also, don't buy their lunch box. It's totally a waste of money. What you get by paying £6 or more is just a box of rice with only a minuscule amout of meat and vegetable.
Jesus Christ, where do I start. The place is nothing to look at. I guess they tried to make the student population feel welcome by decorating it just as a student would - with cheap furniture and with no regard given to putting unneeded things in storage. The menu looks like it was designed by someone on their first day using a computer. It has nearly as many fonts as dishes which there are too many of to begin with. As for the food: myself and the people I went with could not sleep afterwards as our stomachs were causing us so much pain. Stay away from this place.
Disgusting. Never again. 1 Received an overfilled plate of over-salty tasteless mess see photo 2Water was served boiling hot in glass without any warning given to customers 3 Green tea also boiling in glass 4 Staff were brainless and inattentive. 5 Chicken balls were okay.
This was a bad as the kind of chinese food served in in Scotland in the late 80's. Tough, unrecognisable meat, sweet, synthetic sauce, thick bright yellow noodles.. Truly disgusting. If you like food don't order from here.
The sinlge most disgustin take-away ive ever not eaten! I have NEVER in my life thrown take-away food in the bin - ive been handed some crap in my life, but this was SO BAD i wouldnt feed it too my dog! I just wasted almost £30 on a straightforward 2 main, 2 rice, one side dinner for me & the missus. Alarm bells should have rung when we were forced into buying some prawn special rice, from a huge list of rice options, which didnt include just egg-fried rice, or steamed/boiled rice. The bag it came in had a pool of black water in the bottom of it - turns out, that was my 'sauce'. What was left of my main was the scraps of beef you scrape from the carcass once everything worth using/selling is gone. Scaps of chilli-infused off-cuts, swimming in what remained of the black 'sauce'/water, topped with the grease that came from its only other flavouring - heavily boiled beef bones. Im a chef, i know exactly what that flavour is... Then the rice - a slop of overcooked to the point of porrige rice, topped topped! - they couldnt even be arsed to stir through the particular choice we were forced into making from the list that didnt include the gloop they just plonk more gloop on top of - with THE most gelatinous thing ive ever seen! This was allegedly some special prawn fried rice - it was special all right - you will not find anything this 'special' in any other eatery in the UK. Marks out of ten zero for quality, zeor for care, minus 10 for having the audacity to charge people hard-earned cash for that pile of turd... You have been fully warned
Great fun and a great host. Had a proper party when it turned out to be his birthday. Would go again several times.
