Very smart station and there is a metro kiosk waiting for you outside to order a taxi.nI like the way they made it easy not to keep going down and ups just straight to the town
It is also busy. It is very centrally located right next to the town centre. Also, you can cross the foot bridge into Southgate. Dropping off and picking up passengers is easy due to the space outside in stark contrast to Three Bridges station. There is very little longer term car parking. There are a few charging stations. The building above, Overline House, always has vacant offices.
All good, staff were nice and a decent station apart from the fact one of the guards at the gate made me miss my train because he didn't believe me when I said that the train had been cancelled the day before due to storms.
The station has a **large heated waiting area** especially in this weather when you're travelling with a minus 4 temperature. It was so convenient to wait for my train inside.
Paid my most expensive train fare yet here. For a Londoner, paying £10.35 for Crawley to East Croydon felt very weird, a 3 or 4 stop ride. Nonetheless, Gatwick Express was smooth and sweet. And the hang out with my friend felt great.
