Crawley Museum Society
"Crawley Museum is a local history museum, which tells the history of the town through objects and their stories. It has an active programme of events and temporary exhibitions which reflect various aspects of the town and the local area. It also has a learning offer for all ages. Our collections include objects from Crawley prehistory, its medieval settlement, the Victorian town and the 20th Century New Town development. We also collect contemporary objects. We celebrate Crawley’s communities today through our oral history collections, temporary exhibitions and community engagement projects. Items on permanent display include our 1903 Rex Forecar and a Bronze Age sword. We also have a temporary exhibition space."

To be honest I had an open mind as to if it would be any good and with an afternoon free I went to check it out. It's free and they only request you give a small donation. A modern museum staffed by a handful of volunteers, which provides an interesting history of the town. Well laid out and presented exhibits. I liked it.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Think it's very important to have places where a towns history an be remembered.
I was in Crawley with 5 hours to pass so I went to the museum for FREE !!! The two ladies at the entrance were most helpful and the museum was a great experience . Remember the museum is called The Tree. If you are in Crawley do go , all the history in the town is 'On Plain Sight.'Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo

We went here when they had the dinosaur exhibition going. It was great for the younger kids, and they loved the gift shop. Great little museum, but it is very small and doesn’t have a lot to see. It was free entry, but they do welcome donations.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Amazing free museum in the heart of Crawley.Varied and fascinating displays.Very friendly and welcoming staff.A very rich resource of local history and much better central location compared to previous location at Goffs Park.Very enjoyable day;very worth visiting over a longer time.Excellent.
If i could give it 10 stars, I would. For a local museum, they have done an outstanding job. Very informative, loved the interactive items for the kids, and the focus on Crawley. The staff were very kind, patient, knowledgeable, friendly, phenomenal.
The staff were the most lovely helpful people and we had a brilliant time there.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
