Plenty of cross-beded sandstone in the cliffs as well. But make sure the tide isn't in if you want to see the fossil tree stumps.
Quaint old fishing village lots of history good walks along water front and village
Not far from Crail Harbour and a pretty straight forward scramble when the tide is out.
Fascinating fossils easily found a short walk and scramble from the harbour visit at low tide to avoid the scramble
Like many people, I suspect, I learned about the fossils on this beach through David Attenborough's TV show. Relatively easy to identify the fossils and a charming town to visit. Well worth taking a little longer to explore the area.
