"At Craighead Care Home we're proud to offer a real home from home with a true sense of family. Located in Newport-on-Tay, with beautiful views of the River Tay and city of Dundee, we offer residential, nursing, dementia and respite care.As well as a comfortable lounge with piano for entertainment, and for residents who enjoy tinkering the ivories, our home has a separate dining room with easy access to the garden. We're fortunate to have three separate garden areas, and boast a greenhouse for green fingered residents, a wooden gazebo to provide a shaded spot for summer afternoons, and excellent views to take in over a cup of tea and good conversation."

Excellent place with great staffs and residents . I've working here for a month now and I absolutely am loving it! We have fabulous co-workers and really insightfull team. Our manager and admin continuously helpful towards all of us and they made me feel right at home. And the view is just the cherry on top!! I'd invite you all out there who are searching for a nice home with great care for your elderly relatives please give it a shot. I assure you shall not be disappointed .
I am delighted to give this care home a well-deserved 5-star review. The level of care and compassion provided to residents, especially those with dementia, is exceptional. The facility is immaculately maintained, and the staff goes above and beyond to create a warm, engaging environment. Personalized activities and a deep understanding of dementia needs showcase their commitment to individualized care. It’s reassuring to know that loved ones are in such capable hands. Highly recommend this care home for its outstanding service and compassionate approach.
The care home provides a warm and compassionate environment. The staff is attentive and genuinely cares for the residents. The facilities are clean, and the overall atmosphere promotes a sense of community and well-being.nThe manager plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive atmosphere. Their leadership is evident in maintaining high standards of care, effective communication, and responsiveness to residents' needs.
We as a family , had to make the agonising decision last April 2023, to place my mum who has dementia in a care home. This was an extremely difficult decision to make as mum had always said she never wanted to go into a care home, but the reality was we just couldn’t manage and support her at home anymore and couldn’t keep her safe. The search for a home commenced and as we toured a few, we had a sinking feeling of despair and anxiety that we wouldn’t find a decent care home with good reviews and evidence of good care, and the angst knawed away in our tummies, that mum wasn’t going to be well looked after in any home we found. We then toured Craighead Care Home and I immediately felt a sense of relief that perhaps this one was “ decent. We toured with Jasmine the manager, and I took to her straight away. As a healthcare worker myself I am all too familiar with and can see through fabricated fluff and frills. Jasmine was genuine, honest and transparent from the outset and had already created and implemented her vision of how to make this care home one of the best, as it did have its problems apparently before Jasmine took over as the manager. We took the plunge and mum was placed into Craighead. The first night for her was very difficult as anticipated, but she settled quicker than we could have ever hoped for. Fast forward one year, and mum remains happy and content at Craighead and it’s all we can ask. If there are any issues or concerns, no matter how small, I know they will be dealt with in an efficient, professional, timely manner and I trust all the staff there. Jasmine is creating a true home for the residents with a team of staff who are kind, compassionate, respectful and genuine. They care for their residents and bring out the very best in them. Residents engage in so many meaningful activities as well as having their daily care needs met and the activities staff are phenomenal with a monthly calendar of events, activity and entertainment that is really appreciated and enjoyed by all.nThe staff are very kind to my dad too who has really struggled to adjust to living alone and I know he has really appreciated their support.nWe couldn’t be happier with our choice of care home for mum. There are some real doozies out there and it’s very scary to hand over the care of your loved one to someone else. My mum is being well cared for and is happy and content, and that helps us feel okay with this horrible decision we had to make.nThank you so much Jasmine and to all the staff there at Craighead. You are all gems and you are so appreciated.
