We had a great stay at Craigatin House. John let us check in earlier which was much appreciated. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed for the night. Breakfast was really good; my mum really enjoyed the whisky porridge. We traveled to Pitlochry by train and it's only a short walk from the station. We'd definitely be happy to stay here again the next time we are in Pitlochry
Craigatin House is a B&B at the southern end of Pitlochry about five minutes on foot to the first restaurants and shops. It's a historic building originally built for a daughter to Queen Victoria. The current owners completely renovated it and converted the main building and its annex into lovely, spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms. Our room no. 6 was located on the 1st floor of the main building, our friends stayed in room no. 10 in the annex. Both rooms were large and well designed. The huge double bed was the most comfortable of all accommodations we stayed in during our trip through Scotland. The bathroom came with refillable toiletries shower gel, shampoo and conditioner - no body lotion. A tea kettle and bottled water were provided, too. Breakfast is served downstairs in a lovely, airy room - partially buffet style and partially made to order guests are asked to make their choice of hot breakfast the night before. We really liked the porridge with a splash of whisky :- Parking is available on site and free of charge. Considering how busy Pitlochry can be, the location is nicely quiet, especially if the room faces the garden or inner courtyard. However you may hear a train passing by occasionally which is true for most parts of the town as the railway runs parallel to the main street.
Just back from a weekend at Craigatin House & Couryard. Our room in the courtyard was lovely, spotlessly clean and the most comfortable bed.Our hosts could not have done more to make us feel welcome.Such a lovely house,so close to Pitlochry amenities and yes,the whisky porridge is delicious! Walkability: 5 minutes takes you to shops, eating places and electric car charge points.
Cute little B&B near town. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. The parking lot is a little tight to get into with all of the cars. The manager was very friendly and let us check in early. The breakfast in the morning is great. The room we had was spacious, I just thought the bathroom area was very tight since it was on an angle.
A lovely old stone house that has been converted into a B&B. I stayed in a deluxe room. It was really spacious with a nice view of the surrounding hills. The location is really good. It's only a 5 minute walk to the centre of Pitlochry. The staff are really good, and John, the owner, is always on for a chat. I highly recommend staying here.
Just stayed here 16th to 18th Feb its an absolutely lovely place with lots of character and a great host the rooms were spotless and beautifully decorated breakfast was delicious with good variety staff very friendly will definitely stay again soon thx John Rooms: 5/5
We stayed here for 3 nights. Great location with an easy walk into the main street. Car parking available too. Rooms basic but comfortable. Could be noisy, depending who is staying in the room above you. WiFi works best in the central dining space. Breakfast was delicious and had great variety. Would stay here again. Walkability: Easy to walk around main attractions/dining options in Pitlochry.
We had a lovely stay at Craigatin House. It’s quiet even though it was walking distance to restaurants and shops. It offers free parking too. Breakfast was very generous. The whisky porridge is the best! Thanks John!Rooms: 5/5
We stayed over the new year and had a wonderful time hosts were superb nothing was a problem the room was fantastic and the breakfast was the best we have ever tasted you must try the porridge it's superb we will be back this year for hogmanay if not before Susan and Derek
Yes! What a cracking place this is! Stayed just one night but would have happily stayed more. Room 8 was great & was one of the cheapest. Spacious, light & a great view. Breakfast was superb! Full Scottish included, excellent quality & the whiskey, cream porridge is worth the stay alone! They also have granola, pastries, yoghurt etc. The property is stunning & has a sun trap back garden. Thanks John, it was an absolute pleasure! Rooms: Great rooms. Spacious & light. Coffee in pots is a nice touch rather than sachets also decaffeinated. Water supplied & hot chocolate. Shower had shampoo, conditioner & shower gel on the wall.
