We were here without a booking, the staffs are friendly and allocate us a table. Foods are great. I think the side dishes definitely worth to try. Kids meal is a bit too expensive. The crab was amazing! The staff show us where they raise the oysters. We ordered 6. They are fresh and with crunchiness. Crab bisque is good as well. The price meet the quality and service expectations.
My wife loves sea food and I had heard good things about the Crab House Cafe, so I decided to surprise her with a lunch time date. I did book a table a few weeks ahead and I would recommend pre booking as it's very popular and does get busy. I can totally understand why it gets so busy, the food was amazing. I had the mussels in white wine and garlic sauce for starters. They were so fresh and tasty, I definitely recommend them. For mains, I had Hake which was also extremely fresh and tasty. My wife had the Chinese Style Spicy Crab which was huge. Before ordering she asked about the size and was taken through to see how big they were, which was a nice touch. I have to say, the staff were extremely friendly and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this lovely restaurant!
When you see the staff so happy and joyful in their work you know that the food will reflect their love for the job. Can hand on heart say we had the best meal here, absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection, worth every penny. To think I'm not so keen on fish dishes, I would eat here at every opportunity. Then again, don't start me on the cheese board..local cheese which was just mega. Sure you could spend £40 a head quite easy, but food like this who cares take my money :
Very busy place. Booking is essential. Oysters are a must. Very high quality. Also love the bread! Fish meals are both very good. Prefer the hake to the monkfish. But the brown crab is not very fresh. What a pity.
A wonderful find right in the harbour. Gorgeous decor for a restaurant, very aptly maritime themed. Service was wonderful and helpful, gave advice on the drinks on offer and how to use the cutlery for crab eating provided. Wonderful delicious food, especially the crab. All was clearly freshly sourced food and was superb. Lovely atmosphere, and wonderful evening.
Our go to place for whole crab and fresh seafood. Amazing food and impeccable service. Despite there being no reservations online, you are advised to call as well. We were fitted in with a couple of time options and seating area options to accommodate our little dog . She was made to feel welcome too. Kid-friendliness: Children are very welcome. Parking: Parking can be tight on a busy day but there is space just outside too. Wheelchair accessibility: The seating areas and approach are all wheelchair accessible. The toilets by the outside eating area are large and should be accessible to a wheelchair user.
We had been wanting to eat here for years and finally did last week. Very impressed. Quality of the food, cooking, presentation and service all excellent. We had roasted monkfish, a gurnard, lemon sole and megrim sole, all top quality. A nice setting too, plenty of seating inside and out. The Crab House beer was also very good : Will be back for sure.
Decided to have lunch. I had a nice Chicken, Ham and Leek pie with roasted new potatoes. My friend had a crab sandwich. We both had 2 coffees and shared a slice of cake. £37 Friendly efficient staff. Plenty of parking - £1.50 for 2 hours.
I had an inkling this was a real gem of an establishment via YouTuber "stars" Kirsten & Joerg and it was firmly put on one's foodie bucket list promptlyonly had 1 on there . Well, what can I say but the food, ambience and service was exquisite and exceeded expectations - I like really like the fact that the dishes chosen were naturally Keto friendly and low carb with the cauliflower ricepleasantly surprised: which compliments the curry, beautifully - Dorset's best kept secret, perhaps? Throughly enjoyed and appreciated all 3 courses of lunch, compliments to the chef and all front of house members of the teamwhat a superb team dynamic you have there. Finally, I let my pics do the talking!
Food is extraordinary. Fresh, well prepared and presented. The situation is brilliant. Beach shack with addons everywhere. Ben's cabin in Local Hero with knobs on. Staff helpful, kind and keen for everyone to have a special time. We are returning soon.Food: 5/5
