"The magnificent ruins are set in the stunning landscape of Cowdray Park, in the heart of the South Downs National Park.Cowdray Heritage is one of England’s most important early Tudor houses and is known to have been visited by both King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth I. In September 1793, whilst undergoing repairs and refurbishments for the impending marriage of the 8th Viscount Montague, a devastating fire took hold and most of the property was destroyed."

Nice walk around Cowdray Ruins, a Tudor building that caught fire, is under reconstruction. Some events are to be in place in due course Is around a 15 minute walk from Cowdray Farm Shop & takeaway pizza, also hosts the fishman selling top quality fish on Fridays
Unsafe and faced all around but still beautiful. It leave a lot to imagination. It would be good to place some drawings to show how it used to be with a bit of history. Lovely tea at nearby Cowdray House

Imposing ruins of a grand Tudor house, just a couple of minutes walk from a large parking area. The ruins were fenced off at the time of my visit in February 2023, but still clearly visible even though it wasn't possible to walk amongst them. The raised barn around the side of the ruins was interesting to see. The nearby parking area is free for one hour, which gives enough time to have a quick walk around the town - the old part at the top of the hill is home to some lovely historic buildings and certainly warrants a look.
Cowdray Ruins: A Remarkable Historical Landmark The breathtaking remains of this historic site can be found within the picturesque surroundings of Cowdray Park, located in the center of the enchanting South Downs National Park. With its impressive ruins and captivating natural beauty, it's a destination not to be missed.
The ruins are amazing and there is a beautifully clean river running through the grounds Perfect place to watch the Polo, rugby and cricket in the summer months. Plenty of space for the dogs to run. If you're walking in winter make sure you wear waterproof boots, can be a bit soggy. There is a farm shop nearby with cafe. Plenty of outdoor space and seating.
