'Open day' 27th April 2024...nWe were instructed to make our way to the Allan Higgs centre to see about the public services course. We have been and come home as absolutely nobody was there like you said there would be when booking our place/time slot. We were not the only ones who turned up expecting to see someone. The poor receptionist was oblivious to any such open day at the Allan Higgs centre and we had nobody to call to ask what is going on. People have travelled to ask about the courses you offer and for nobody to even be there is abysmal. Very poor planning on behalf of Coventry College. Absolutely WILL NOT be sending our son to your college now. There was No email to say change of plan don't turn up here. Alot of children will be disappointed and alot of parents annoyed at a wasted journey. We read some reviews about the college last night... today has confirmed what we read. Lucky escape maybe.
What I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction and disappointment with the experiences I have had at north building reception . It is with great regret that i inform about agrsively I had from one of the receptionists lady at the college.nOnce with this receptionist, I've in the elevator where she, along with two other staff members, the other 2 remained silent while she aggressively questioned my right to use the elevator. I was taken aback by her hostile tone, and in response, I explained that I have difficulty walking and was waiting for the doctor's note , to obtaining my badge.nUnfortunately, today 16 of January at 9 30 my second time with the same reseptionist lady, I had forgotten my ID, and I was well aware of the college's rules regarding identification. Seeking assistance, I approached her, but instead of providing any help, she demanded a payment of 5 pounds for a new badge. I explained my predicament, stating that I had forgotten everything in the car and that my husband had taken the car to the garage when he dropped me However, she not only refused to empathize with my situation, she didn't ask for my name or ID number to verify my identity.nAfter waiting for an hour without making any progress, I approached another receptionist for assistant . This receptionist took the time to ask for my name and ID, genuinely trying to help. However, to my surprise, the receptionist I had asked help from earlier intervened and prevented the other receptionist from assisting me. She claimed to have spoken with my teacher, stating that no ID no class. I was perplexed as to how she knew which teacher I was referring to or what class I was a part of, considering she had not asked for my name or ID number during our previous interaction. My intention was solely to address the issue at hand and assure her that I was a law-abiding student who had not violated any rules or engaged in any misconduct. Regrettably, the receptionist's conduct left much to be desired and basic human decency.nI strongly believe that it is incumbent upon the college to ensure that all staff members, especially those in customer-facing roles, exhibit the highest standards of professionalism, empathy, and respect. The receptionist in question should receive kind regards
Absolutely shocking the way my son has been treated! He was finally given the advise on what course to enroll it but that's where communication stopped. He has special needs and was told he would be supported in the process and transition. Despite calling daily and emailing the support team several times he has now been told over the phone he doesn't have a place as the course is full. He feels he has been discriminated against and the whole process has caused much distress. Very disappointed as this is local to him and would be best placed in an area already familiar with.
3 years here, teaching has been hit or miss. The good tutors left.nFound some staff who don’t teach me a little discriminatory towards me.nThe cafeteria is extremely over-priced for students. With the daily meal allowance not even being enough to cover both food and a drink!nHad a incident involving some students from another course once, nothing was ever done about it.
We had 3 x apprenticeships and one survied, now the college has lost all the paperwork and it has to be started again at another college. This college is awful.
