An institution as old as the station it sits in, this is a great café-come-newspaper shop and one that's well worth a visit. The crowning glory of this place is their bacon sandwiches, which are some of the best I've ever eaten. They are a serving of smoked bacon, soft white bread and buttery perfection. A steal at £2.40 with a cup of tea. Every journey should start this way...

This is a lovely, clean and well run cafe. The sandwiches are great and it is always a good place to have a coffee and a chat. The staff are friendly and efficient. I can highly recommend this cafe: Been here many many times. Love it.
I've been going here for breakfast for the best part of thirty years. It's a great place for people watching and the food's always really good. The buffet, as it's known, has a retro feel, harking back to the halcyon days of railway travel. There's a great range of magazines and papers and the coffee's good.
Good place to sit waiting for the train. Staff very friendly and the bacon sandwich is reasonably priced and very nice.
I like to chat with the staff here before I get on the train in the morning. I always have a pinnochio without chocolate, in case you're wondering who it is.

Lovely traditional architecture. Great place for a bacon roll and a cuppa.
Good buffet with plenty of food and drink to choose from, well stocked shop and newsagents, plenty of seating and pleasant suroundings, friendly helpful staff.
Really disappointing coffee today. Both full cups dropped in the bin, only £2 each but stop horrid.
