"Cothrom, meaning opportunity in Gaelic, is a Community and Development organisation in South Uist in the Western Isles. From our base in Ormiclate we cover the islands of Berneray to Barra. Training is the main focus of our work with a diverse portfolio of adult learning opportunities including a furniture restoration and recycling enterprise called ReStore. We also have a full time Gàidhlig Nursery, Cothrom Òg, for 32 children aged 3 months to pre-school."

Nach e tha math. Yeah its really good to see how the community can benefit from the restore experience. Recycling is very beneficial. Really nice to see some people are learning how to appreciate and restore furniture on the premises too. I think trying to keep these things charitable in all directions can be a challenge but overall I feel the restore is fairly successful. Difficult times that we live in at the moment. I think it's hard for many stores to keep up a routine and their commitments especially in more remote areas. I like that people are making and crafting and generally expressing. Antiques and books and knick-knacks what's not to like. #shruglife
