Good food and ambience. My sea bream was pretty tasty, although it would’ve been nice if the skin had been crisp throughout. Maybe the large amount of tapenade on top turned it soggy. I recommend the chocolate salted caramel tart for dessert. Really enjoyed that. FYI, the clementines that come with the tarte au citron are poached in some sort of alcohol, which was a little off-putting for my MIL. Overall, though, we all liked the food. We unfortunately did have an accident when being served hot tea. Luckily I still had on my black coat, so I did not get scalded nor have to deal with visible tea stains on my clothes. This was honestly the best case scenario. Staff were very apologetic and handled it professionally.
I'm going to start of by saying that the atmosphere and the attentiveness of the staff were very good. The meal did feel special and I will most likely return in the next 6 months. However, it is very hard to find value for money as I feel the vegan breakfast pictured excluding the Avocado which was forgotten by the kitchen wasn't enough. It was delicious but even a small touch to have vegan butter with the sourdough toast would have nice. My recommendation to Cote, add some beans and a second sausage and they'll have my business far more often. Vegan breakfast £9, Champagne breakfast any breakfast with coffee and a glass of Champagne pictured £17 Edit: The first review was in August 2021, my new images are from today December 2021. This time the meal offered far more value for money, a massive increase in size of the meal. However, the staff were far less attentive and it was difficult to be served. This is 10.30 on the 29th Dec.
All good. Lovely place, staff and food. We did feel a little that we were being nudged to eat up quicker...being asked if you have finished a dish about 5 times because you eat slow, is either over the top customer service or something else. Would recommend
First time I booked with friends and we found the parking next door excellent and the staff friendly. Food and service was very good as can be expected from Cote. The large garden outside made the whole dining experience more enjoyable especially on a sunny day. Looking forward to our next visit… Vegetarian options: Good choice of vegan and vegetarian options. Parking: Brilliant parking right next door. Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible, large disabled toilet facilities, ramps to garden area. Staff willing to help and very friendly. Dietary restrictions: Staff very accommodating about dietary restrictions.
Lovely to share a meal celebrating a family birthday. Attentive and friendly staff. Clean in all areas and generally welcoming atmosphere. Good food cooked pretty well. Nice selection of drinks. Parking: Chargeable parking until 7pm then free. Public parking right next to restaurant. Very convenient. Dietary restrictions: Staff took great pains to ensure that all dietary restrictions were noted and full advice was given.
Perfect for a family get-together of 25 people, booked within 48 hours and confirmed in 24 hours. The staff were all great, very patient and polite. Food was piping hot and well seasoned. Great for any occasion, friends, family a couple or solo dining. Will visit again! Parking: Council car parking next to the restaurant.
Very nice. Staff were friendly. Nice breakfast. We will come back, especially in the summer as the outdoor area looks fab.Food: 4/5
Hello, We have had a dinner at the restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday. Have had a really good time: our family had arrived a bit earlier but were offered a table immediately. My wife was given a glass of prosecco on the house - a nice gesture! Ordered drinks, then mains... The service was inobtrusive but attentive. Our starters arrived promptly, it felt just like it was spot on: not too early so we had time to have a nice chat, but not too late so we didn't have to wait. Then mains. We all ordered different dishes and we had a chance to taste them - every one was delicious. I ordered risotto with caramelised sauce and my son a steak - when I tried his steak, I instantly regretted not ordering one. I do enjoy steaks when they are done properly and that one was perfect: good cut, excellent beef - tender, succulent. After good "square meal" ordered the desserts. Once again, really enjoyed them and after we finished them we spent some time at the table, just having a conversation. It was quite late but no one was rushing us. Paid the bill - please not that 10% service charge is included. So in short: great atmosphere, excellent service and vary tasty food! Many thanks to the restaurant for our time, Rustam.
Lovely food, great ambience and superb service. We had an extremely enjoyable dining experience. Steak Tartare starter was lifted by being able to season it to individual taste with tabasco and Worcestershire sauce. Not having huge appetites we then shared the Moules Frites. Sweet and succulent mussels in a lovely creamy broth. The "frites" perfectly cooked. I had to find room for the crepes and they were absolutely delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the excellent staff. A great evening. I simply must return for the French Onion soup and tartiflete. Most excellent wine list and we spoilt ourselves a bit! Without drinks, food was about £35 a head. Excellent value. Parking: Public car park right next to the restaurant. Free after 7pm
The staff were friendly and attentive and it was a nice setting but a little dark inside, so it was difficult to see what I was eating. I ordered a ribeye steak and was served a ribeye steak but the server insisted it was a sirloin and they charged me for a sirloin despite me pointing this out. I ordered it medium and it came out well done. The staff were were very apologetic and offered a new steak straight away but I cannot bare wasting meat so I decided to keep it and they gave me a large glass of wine to go with it FoC. The starters and desserts were delicious. An enjoyable meal overall and I'd happily go back.
