I went in and explained that I wanted to become a member. I had already done a lot of research on the types of membership that Costco offered, so I knew which one I wanted to sign up for.nnThe staff member was incredibly mechanical and kept on trying to get me to sign up for the most expensive membership. After numerous attempts from the employee, I eventually made it clear albeit very politely that I did not want to sign up for the membership that was being recommended to me.nnThe employee became outright rude and uninterested from that moment on, and finished the remaining part of the membership process very quickly, without saying a word.nnI found this behaviour really odd and unnecessary. I realise the staff are probably encouraged to get customers to sign up for the most expensive membership, but it shouldn't be pushed so aggressively, nor should staff become rude when a customer does not want or need it.nnThe shop itself is fine. It's big, with a wide range of products and some good bargains to be found, if you're happy to buy in bulk.nnThere is a food court, and the prices are reasonable. However, that also gets very busy. I had to wait 30 minutes for my order to be ready.nnThe payment tills are really badly organised. The queues are really long and customers are just standing awkwardly, as there are no floor markings or barriers showing them where to stand. It took me 20 minutes to get served from the point I joined the queue, and the shop wasn't even as busy as it often is.nnFrustratingly, you then need to have your receipt checked on the way out, which only adds to the lengthy process of getting in and out of the shop. The staff don't seem to check every customer's receipt, but the whole thing seems unnecessary to me.nnI realised when I got home that there had been errors on my membership, with my personal details, which meant that I had to go back again another day to have them corrected. Part of me wonders if the employee did this intentionally, out of spite .nnAll in all, it's not an enjoyable place to shop. It feels very chaotic and badly organised. Shopping here takes far too long and in my opinion, prices are not really any cheaper than the major supermarkets.nAlso, the car park is spacious, but it is very badly designed, so it feels really dangerous. I do not recommend this shop.
There is always an array of interesting articles and good items to buy, and the prices are comparatively affordable. Checkout staffs have been brilliant so far. Courteous and professional. I am struggling with the concept of the membership check-in and, most importantly, with the receipt and bag checks on exit. It is unpleasant and always leaves a slight sense of being unwelcome or suspect. Not how I want to feel during an honest transaction.
If you bought fish today be aware of worms, hot weather, i did let the staff know , she removed some, went back after 5 mins the rest of them was the same .
Lovely Costco. Always plenty of space to park here. It always seems well stocked. The staff are incredibly nice.nnI left my phone without realising and within a few minutes was alerted by my dad who the staff were able to call. Thank you to whoever found my phone, and thank you Costco! :
Always well stocked and busy. Good value, high quality products. It's so popular that there are always queues for both petrol and shopping. Be prepared to wait around 15mins at the purchase points.
