I've noticed a couple of unenthusiastic reviews, so feel I should share my own experience. Both my father, 3 years ago 2020-2021, and now my mother, since March of this year 2024, have been residents under the long-term care of Cosham Court Nursing Home. So I write this review on the basis of consistent observations across those years. I could never lavish enough praise upon, nor commend more highly, the diligent staff and the excellent quality of care I have seen. One senses that the happiness and well-being of residents truly matters to the nursing staff for whom care is no doubt a vocation and not merely a job. In the course of our weekly visits we have come to know some of the nursing staff quite well, and have no doubt of their dedication to their work as carers nor any doubt that the quality of care that my mother receives is of the highest order. Finally, but not least, I must commend the manager Charisma and administrator Paul under whose excellent management such a consistent culture of quality care and diligence has been enabled. The kindest, friendliest, and sincerest people one could hope to manage a nursing home. My wife Sue who has terminal cancer was admitted to Cosham Court on 3rd May 2024. I visit Sue every day and have witnessed the wonderful care being provided . The friendliness ,genuine interest and compassion are demonstrated constantly, the care provided for Sue’s personal hygiene and comfort has also been exemplary. The quality of food is excellent , with a healthy and varied diet, due to Sue’s lack of mobility in her hands , where necessary the meal is diced to assist Sue in eating it easily . The dedication of all the staff, The Manager, the Administrator, Nurses, Carers, Catering staff, Cleaners , Entertainments organiser, Laundry staff, all work as a team. There must be times when situations are very difficult to deal with but because of the dedication to each individual is paramount any difficulty is dealt with care and professionalism. As the husband of a patient I am so grateful for the care and dedication afforded to my dear wife, it really makes a difficult situation much easier to deal with. Thank you to you all.
Really awful experience of refusing to care for my mum, on the basis of her dietary requirements because of her religious beliefs. It is absolutely abhorrent and alarming to me that a ‘care’ home does not care enough to provide an adequate meat free meal option/plan. Nothing against the nursing staff, it’s not their fault, or even the home itself, but highly disappointed with them and the discrimination.
An excellent nursing home my wife suffers advanced dementia and has been at The Court now for 9 months The staff and management are very caring and look after her really well Our family have no worries about her care it is a great relief as she was bed bound at home but now is able to join in with all of the things that go on each day thank you to every one at The Court Trevor J
My father has spent 6 weeks rest bite over Christmas while my mum was poorly and he has loved it here, we have noticed a real change in him much more happier and alert, the staff are brilliant with him very patience and caring, always something to do to keep them entertained, we wouldn't hesitate to put Dad back cosham court
Very poor care home who held my mum until her death and along with Essex Social Services also Broomfield and Queen Alexandra Hospitalsmade sure my mother died. All I got when I visited her was threats of being arrested because I had power of attorney and they used laws to cover up the failings of Essex NHS Trust for Chelmsford.
Very pleased with the treatment my Mother is receiving here. Extremely professional & caring staff. Cannot fault this home. Mum is settling in well
