I've been wanting to visit this museum for a while and after a trek up some narrow streets, we found it! While it's not a large museum, it's fascinating and insightful from the orientation video to the bog butter exhibit upstairs. Don't miss this unique museum! Now I know why Irish butter is the best in the world.
The Butter Museum is a wonderful experience for anyone on a visit to Cork. Entry is only €5 and its quite a unique opportunity to learn about the history of Irish butter. In particular the growth of the Irish butter market in the 20th century was fascinating! I would happily recommend a visit to this wonderful little museum.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
This little museum was a DELIGHT. We love butter and our family always gets excited to have Kerrygold. The video was fascinating even if a bit of an ad for Irish butter, and probably a bit one sided when it comes to the co-op reduction. Overall it was just a fun way to spend an hour learning about this cool history in Ireland and Cork specifically. Fabulous staff as well!
Small, but perfectly formed. Great way to spend 1 1/2 hrs. InformativeVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure

A beautiful place with a wonderful story about national traditions. Some exhibits have video and audio accompaniment. Many ancient devices for the production of butter. Take a piece of bread and butter with you and feel the real atmosphere of its production there.
I have been there at the opening hour so they weren't a lot of people which was great! I have learned a lot about butter in general and especially about the Irish butter history. I wasn't expecting the butter to be such a big thing in Ireland. The only thing I did not really like about the museum is the 16 min long video promotion about a butter brand, probably because they fund the museum or something. The overall experience was great though, hence the 4 stars
Interesting to visit, small museum but nice to get some info about history of butter in Ireland
A wonderful museum about butter and its position in Cork city history. I learned so much about why dairy, and specifically cattle, are so important to Irish history. I can’t wait to visit again!Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
