Friendly and efficient staff at check in. My room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was a let down though. Had to wait for quite a while to see a member of staff so I I could provide my room number prior to entering the restaurant. The member of staff didn't even speak, no 'good morning' or anything. The food was ok but nothing special, had to wait a long time for a fried egg, by the time I was given it most of my other food was cold. Overall, a nice hotel but let down by the staff working in the chaotic restaurant at breakfast.

Lovely welcoming reception area. Friendly staff. Room was incredibly clean and the bed was huge!! Bathroom was a nice size and super clean. Used their room service. Food was lovely, pricey but to be expected when staying here.

Didn't seem many choices in Sheffield for "Nice" hotels. But the Copthorne was a good choice. Very friendly reception lady who checked us in quickly and made sure we had two rooms close to each other. Nice bright clean reception and lift/corridors. Rooms and facilities were as expected for this grade hotel... only material down side was the windows were really really dirty on the outside, to the point that it was difficult to see through. Had booked a Club room, so got complimentary drink at the bar near reception, free water and soft drinks in the room as well and breakfast being included. Breakfast was very good with well presented classic hot breakfast food. Plus cereal, toast, fruit etc. Would recommend and stay again.

Booked this hotel pretty much randomly  simply to visit my daughter who's at university in Sheffield over the weekend. Rooms are very clean and modern and looked very good. Beds are very comfortable too. Staff were fantastic, I can honestly say I don't have one single complaint regarding any of the staff members I met, they all seemed very happy to be there and very happy to help. Bar prices were very reasonable and the food was also of good standard. I'll definitely return again soon based on my first stay at this hotel. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!  Thank you for a very enjoyable stay at your very welcoming hotel.

Stayed here on a business trip. I regularly stay in Sheffield but first time in this hotel. I noted that it’s a bit out of the way of the main restaurants and bars. A short taxi journey to the square. The reception staff are really friendly and helpful. The rooms are of a good standard  I didn’t eat in the restaurant in he evening but the breakfast buffet was pretty good.

Lovely rooms, lovely bathroom. Staff were excellent and the food was good. Special shoutout to Evie, who made us feel really comfortable. She was friendly and down to earth and made the stay just that little bit nicer.  Negatives were the lack of tea/coffee in the room. First hotel I’ve ever stayed at that didn’t have some form of refreshment in the room so that was disappointing. Other than that, would return. Fitness room was also a plus.

Business-like feel. Spacious room. Immaculate bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was OK - the best scrambled eggs I've had in a hotel. TV worked fine but was a little old-tech.

I stayed on the 2nd floor which was ok the view wasn't the best but acceptable for an over night stay. The reception was professional and efficient on checking in and receiving my room key.  The room was well kept and in tidy order, the cleanliness was ok but not perfect, but I do have high standards. The breakfast was lovely and plenty of choice from cooked to continental and fresh fruit.  Overall I will stay here again and would give a 5 star review if the hotel just trained the odd member of staff who was miserable and put the standard  of cleaning up to 5 star standard.

Very odd. As a frequent traveller too much sometimes I found the quality of the rooms superior. Bar and restaurant average. Location, average but centre of city is reasonably accessible. However being a business traveller the WiFi is absolutely dire. If you need to get any work done, forget it, book somewhere else. I had to call the front desk frequently to reset the router - very annoying when you have evening conference or video calls.

Stayed here for work. The staff were very friendly, the room was spotless, and the breakfast was fantastic. The room was bigger than expected, with a shower, bath and big TV. Top marks for having sockets next to the bed.
