Had a lovely afternoon birthday surprise for my auntie, and they met every need. Great selection of tea and having more of the food if we wanted too.
Friendly and attentive service, really well cooked and delicious food, although they don't take amex, but that was the only disappointment.
Ate there yesterday with a friend. Very pleasant atmosphere. Service was very friendly, and the manager went above and beyond to cater to my dietary requirements. Good variety on the menu, food was cooked to perfection and portions were of a proper size. Would absolutely go there again and recommend it to anyone looking for good British food.
Just OK in my opinion. The inside was a bit swanky, so it felt like a trendy place to eat. I did not enjoy my food at all. I had a vegetable soup which I thought was very bland and my main was totally forgettable. My friend got a sticky toffee pudding for dessert which was lovely. The servers kept making little mistakes with our orders, but we're friendly enough. I probably won't return.
Great atmosphere for talking, good decor and table layout - excellent food and even Wednesday special offers on steak! Our food was delicious and exciting. Will try again - there was a supervised trainee serving us and that was well managed.
This self proclaimed 'British' restaurant has a healthy dash of French inspiration to their tasty menu. The seafood here in particular was excellent. Everything tasted fresh and the waiting staff were lovely and attentive. A little expensive, but worth it.
Two big problems going on here, unfortunately. Firstly, pricing versus what ends up on your plate - my 8.75 Prawn Cocktail starter literally consisted of five or six small suspect defrosted prawns, on a bed of shredded iceberg, couple of toms, a single sliver of avocado and a large dollop of sauce. I am not exaggerating. The steak was reasonably OK, but for 22 quid you'd expect it to be really good. Second issue was the glacial pace of service - bearing in mind we all ordered simple stuff, waiting 30+ minutes between courses seems too much to ask. A pity.
Popped in on a Sunday night and it was nigh on empty. Ordered the roast, which had an extremely overcooked Yorkshire Pudding, small portions and pretty underwhelming. A friend had a medium rare steak, that was at best medium, possibly medium well. My wife had an eton mess as a dessert, which contained very small particles of meringue. All in all , the restaurant looks quite impressive, but doesn't deliver food wise.
We had a lovely meal here the other week. Food was excellent however service was patchy. I think they had servers off which meant they were short staffed. I want to try again because I think they can do better and the actual meal ores eyed was lovely
Took mum here for a birthday meal, the food was amazing it was beautifully presented and was of great quality, the décor and ambiance was very pleasant, also the staff were very friendly, attentive, warming and welcoming. Would definitely recommend going here also its reasonably prices for the quality of food and experience. Cant wait to go back!
