Original accountant at this company was wonderful. She retired and we were left with the owner and AN Other handling our account. I was trying to close a limited company and only just solvent. Took Cook Trotter almost a year to produce our accounts from the date of our closure. Corrupted Sage files were blamed: took around 6 months to inform us. Gave poor advice/service. Managed to close solvent: no thanks to Cook Trotter, who showed no empathy for our situation. Would have reported, but not worth the angst. 20/07/2022 I have read your reply. You have my email address, if you are seriously suggesting we communicate further. I personally do not believe it will serve any purpose, as our company has now closed. Your approach to the difficulties we encountered when trying to close solvent, was hardly reflective of our long association. In my opinion, you ceased to do your best for our company, once I had expressed the wish to close. Furthermore, when I complained, rather than trying to address my complaints, you severed ties with our company and cut me adrift, with no accountant to file my personal tax return. Fortunately, HMRC was very helpful and understanding.
Cook and Trotter have been our accountants for nearly 12 years now. We were allocated our own accountant from the start, and she still works with us today. She is very conscientious, extremely accurate, and genuinely cares about us, and doing the very best for our business. Whenever we have gone to Cook and Trotter, we have always been greeted with a smile, and a very caring professional team. We feel lucky to have found them.
