There’s an over abundance of great bakeries in Manchester; the place is disproportionately well serviced for sourdough and pastries But Companio, hands down make the best croissant and bread in the city. The pastries are crisp, hold more butter than you would think possible, have a good balance with a slight sourness to them. The bread, especially the baguettes are spectacular Recently tried a few bakes, which have all been ace - well made sponges; again with balanced flavour and good texture that don’t just rely on overly sweet filling for taste Lunch sandwiches are also some of the best I’ve ever eaten anywhere It was a real outlier when first opened and the area since has exploded, with a plethora of other really great bakery / coffee / pastry shops - but this place, quietly and with no fuss or fanfare, beats the lot
Companio has the best croissants in Manchester. We did a blind taste test to compare all popular local bakeries and this one topped them all. The deep roasted undertones make every bite so fulfilling.
Learnt this place very recently, recommended from friend, finally got a chance to arrive during its opening hours, got 4-5 quality and fabulous fresh bread, it's an open show bakery kitchen, right next to the till, very nice, the bread will be my wonderful breakfast for the next couple days. Very Looking forward to enjoy my breakfast with a joyful heart, Thanks to Companio Bakery!
Fresh focaccia, steaming hot sourdough and perfectly prepared pastries. Get to Campanio Bakery. Open at the crack of a sparrows, 8am, Campanio Bakery is a warm, charming in-house bakery. Situated in the cool corner of Manchester. It has a fine selection of artisan breads astutely prepared onsite. Baguettes, sourdough’s, focaccia’s, croissants. Small and large loaves. You will leave happy and eat heartily.
Oh I am just obsessed with this place. I’d visit every morning if I had the time or the funds! Such beautiful venoisserie and incredible bread with some amazing unique savory treats too. Always lovely service. Companio, my girlfriend and I are your number one fans. Never stop doing what you do.
THIS BAKERY IS SUCH A GREAT LITTLE GEM! I am so glad I found it! Fresh pastry, baked right in the store, in front of your own eyes! Its literally the bakery version or equal to hibachi style cooking with japanese food! The pastry is so delicious as well! Its very balanced, from taste to texture to portion! I can not over sell it enough! Although, its just a tad pricey but other than that, AMAZING!
Amazing bakery! Each time I go I find a new little gem that I love Their focaccia is the finest I ever tasted! The tomato and chilli is a rare find, I’ve only had it once, but if it’s in store make sure you treat yourself to it. Other recommendations are the vegan sticky toffee cake and the rasps brownies
Was in a Manchester for a couple of days and a friend recommended that I visit Companio. What a great recommendation! Really delicious croissant and lovely sweet buns!
Scrumptious is an understatement! Forget everything you learnt about Danish pastries from a supermarket bakery, these are on another level. I admit thinking about Der Demel whenever I see the term Viennoiserie, but it turns out that I mistaken with my expectation of fine patisserie, as it refers ro baked goods made with leavened laminated dough. The pistachio cake was delightfully different. Will be back for the brød!
Just wow. Perfect pastries. Buttery laminated layers, soft, flakey, and crisp. Everything we tried had well balanced flavours and fillings. The coffee almond croissant was insanely good. As was the zataar and feta swirl. To be honest, everything was. Also, everything is baked and shaped right there so you can see the process if you want.
