Great place to go with young children. River dipping, walking trails and a good sized play area. Ample space for picnics. Make sure to take your wellies, fishing nets and picnic mats. This place has a cafe with choices of hot and cold food but thought it was a bit overpriced. Parking is reasonable at £4.50 for the whole day!

Great place to take the kids. Easy parking, a river to wade in, cafe and information center, and the recently refurbed playground is great. We've enjoyed river dipping events in the past too. Friendly staff. I'd recommend it for kids any age. Watch very young children near the river though as there's no fence.

Lovely cafe, kids adventure playground, river and canal-side walks, plus paddling area. Dog and child friendly, plus wheelchair accessible pathways. Helpful staff. £4.50 for parking but otherwise no charge. Lovely for a sunny afternoon.

Took a nabour for his first visit to black park. He loved it. I have been going there for 40 odd years. (I now have have 16 great grand kids. Mostly in Wales) I took my kids on the water years ago in a dinghy. Also swam in there. Way back in 1970s. Happy days!

A lot of litter really. Cafe pleasant though toilet facilities needed cleaning. Apparently problem caused because they did not have cleaners at week end. Could not see hygiene rating for cafe on display. Though perhaps I missed it. Pleasant assistant in cafe. Walked to lock which was situated by scrap cars etc. So, a good walk was a little disappointing.
