Hello my name is Peter Catlin. I am 79 years old, I have just finished a stay at Collins house. Following a fall at home, I live alone and laid undiscovered for 3days I was taken to hospital with several problems. When told I was going to a carehome, I was very concerned as I used to inspect some . Nothing could be further than the truth with Collins House. My time there was fantastic. The accommodations, but most of all the wonderful staff. I can’t name them all Wendy but from the management office staff caters. Maintenance staff. Everything was perfect, hope i can get back if I need end of life care.
My 93 year old Mother in Law has been in Collins House for just 2 weeks now. From the very first moment I stepped inside this place I had a good feeling. Collins House felt warm, welcoming and every member of staff was so positive. I was heartened by what I saw. My own father, some years ago now, lived in a residential home in Leigh on Sea. I visited many homes before I chose the right one for him. Collins House stands out to me as a place I would have chosen for my own father. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, nothing is too much trouble. Collins House has it right, it feels like home. Well done to every single person that works there as you make it what it is. Every person we dealt with at Collins House were the kindest and most helpful at a time of sadness and despair. Everyone we spoke to went over and above to help us deal with the constraints caused by the pandemic and nothing was too much trouble. Mum was originally from Poland and loved to speak the language and Collins House made this happen. Beata and Agnieszka spoke to mum in polish and as mum had lost her appetite Beata made Polish food to encourage mum to eat. Agnieszka and Fleur also spoke at length with my dad, which gave him great comfort. Tracy went over and above allowing us to FaceTime so we got to see mum, which just so happens to be our last time and left us with a precious memory. When we thanked the staff they said it was their job, but like my dad says ‘some people just do their job and others do it with love and care’ and this is how we feel about all the staff at Collins House. Good size venue with a nice stage and a bar.its good for big occasions or wedding receptions.
I visited a friend there, Mr AA. The staff are lovely people. On entry I was welcomed. I got a very nice vibe about the place. All the staff I said hi too were lovely, lovely people.
