Wonderful staff Good service An amazing tables and chairs comfortable The food amazing! Even the breakfast is delicious and good price for the Quality of food.. My favourite restaurant in London and NY & France
The food is overall good, but a bit expensive we paid 340 pounds for 6 people the atmosphere is not bad but could be better, its a bit hot inside and the chairs/seating is not comfortable, i would recommend the the veal escalopes and the side dish of fries but without starters because the food took ages to arrive. Overall the french cuisine is a bit cringe to me specially if it’s being over exaggerated. Also, this restaurant is dog friendly . Overpriced in terms of value for money.
We didn't stay long, we only drank a beer at their place. We liked how the interior is arranged. Otherwise, an OK bar, perhaps even the most beautiful in Sloane Square.Service: 3/5
I had the pleasure of dining at Colbert in Sloan Square for a lunch meeting. Colbert is a French-style cafe bar and restaurant with a chic Parisian ambiance that instantly transports you to the streets of Paris, minus the Eiffel Tower at Sloan square . Now, let's talk about the cocktails. I decided to start with the "Azure Mexican," a delightful concoction that supposedly combines del Maguey Vida Mezcal, aperol, rosemary syrup, lime juice, grapefruit soda, and angostura bitters. However, to my surprise, the waitress informed me that they were out of the essential ingredient - the elusive Vida mezca which is 100% organic agave . Fear not, my adventurous taste buds were willing to settle for a tequila substitution. Little did I know, the bartender had other plans. When the cocktail arrived, I took one sip and immediately sensed something was amiss. I called the waitress over and asked her to investigate the mystery of the missing mezcal. To my disbelief, she returned with the shocking revelation that the bartender had replaced it with gin! Gin, in a cocktail named "Azure Mexican"! I couldn't help but wonder why they didn't just rename it "Blue English." Thankfully, the manager swiftly rectified the situation with an average tequila, which, I must admit, was a step up from the gin fiasco. Despite this cocktail catastrophe, the food at Colbert was truly exceptional. I started with the Prawn & Avocado Cocktail, a refreshing combination of flavors that danced on my palate. For the main course, I opted for the Grilled Octopus with tomato and chorizo salsa sauce - a dish that showcased the chef's mastery of flavors and textures. And for dessert, the Coupe Amandine stole the show, boasting pistachio, hazelnut, and almond nougatine ice cream that was a sweet symphony in every bite. I capped off the meal with an espresso macchiato, because who needs sleep when you can have coffee? In conclusion, despite the cocktail mishap, my experience at Colbert was nothing short of splendid. The food alone made up for any disappointment, leaving me with a satisfied and satiated palate. However, I can't help but ponder the state of service in most London restaurants over the past few years. Are gin-filled Mexican cocktails the new norm? Only time will tell. Great place for lunch & dinners. Don’t come during the weekend - you won’t feel this place too crowded. Come during the week. Onion soup, liver pate, tartar, lemon Sole, flat iron stake, famous French entrecôte, and all the deserts are fabulous. Service is great. Bread and butter are addictive.
The initial welcome and service throughout was good. The food was excellent. However, unfortunately the lovely feeling of being here was ruined towards the end of the meal. We were asked if we would like a dessert menu. We said yes please. After waiting for the dessert menu to appear for around 10 minutes a male member of staff approached our table, said it was reserved for someone else and we had to leave. I do not understand why we weren't told the duration of the reservation when we first arrived, or why we didn't get a 30 minute warning so we could order dessert in time. I explained we had been offered and accepted the dessert menu, and that I was thinking of having a coffee at least. We were told that if I wanted a coffee we would need to stand at the bar. I said no, we would leave. He had been rude. It was an unpleasant experience and really spoiled an otherwise lovely lunch. Sadly it is unlikely I will return because of this.
I visited a few times since this Colbert was my default meeting point during my short stay in London. The location is fantastic. You can go to many different tangents from Colbert and it is steps away from public transportation. For shopaholics out there …. The boutique lined streets are eye watering and everything is beautiful all the way to Harrods. The option is just endles. The only problem is the restaurant is usually crowded and almost always very loud. So no space for your bags other than the floor. Service is prompt and courteous even if they are busy. The food was good and cocktails were surprisingly delicious which I didn’t expect from tourist laden places. I wished I got more pictures out of it. Reservation is highly recommended if you plan to come at the peak meal times/ desirable hours.
I stopped on the off chance they were still serving breakfast, having seen the place on a previous visit to the area. I had eggs Benedict which was delicious. What really stood out to me was the service. Outstanding. I shall return.Food: 5/5
