Been using this chippy for years, driving to and from Challaborough but tonight will be the last time I'm afraid. Prices have increased and portions sizes reduced. Large chips this is meant to be and the Cod has got to be the shortest I've ever had.
Super fish and chips. Quality never varies. I always go Tues Wednesday, Fri or Sat and look forward to going. Friendly staff very welcoming. Always eat in Dining area. Thank you for looking after me- enjoy my outing.x
Came here after a show and honestly best Fish and Chips we have eaten. The fish wasn’t to greasy, very fresh. Bit expensive for me but definitely worth a treat. Will be coming back again soon. Wish I tried a Beef burger now but will give it a go next time . Oh and don’t forget to get the amazing Onion Rings .Recommended dishesSmall Chips, Mushy Peas, Gravy, Onion Rings, Fish & Chips
A queue but worth the wait! Option to dine in or take away. Cod was massive! Vegetarian options: A veggie burger option
A very good fish and chips. We sat in to eat, prior to a trip to local cinema.. Busy local fish and chips for takeaway and eat in. Would just suggest making the eat in section warmer, as the cold air comes through from the takeaway part of the shop even with the sliding door closed.Food: 4/5
One of the better fish and chip places around. The food is good quality, large portions and not too greasyFood: 5/5
Over priced and under served. As others have said it’s more expensive than any take away chip shop I’ve been to for a long time and the portions were insultingly small. Quality was ok, a little greasy but not too bad. 40 minute wait with 3 people ahead of me, certainly will not return and would advise others to look elsewhere.
Lovely cod and chips here, bit pricey at £9.80 but far better than the cod n chips we had from 'The Place' in Salcombe. Found you can park on Fore Street hill for about an hour. We then walked down to the river to eat. Be warned they are not open on a Sunday which is why we ended up at the awful takeaway 'The Place' in Salcombe.
The best fish n chips and the best ever pea fritters. Consistently good.Food: 5/5
Great take away service from this clearly popular chippy. They coped extremely well with our overly large take away order & everything was correct when we dished it up. Whilst we waited we saw the queue grow considerably & quickly disappear again. There is a seating area that wasn't clearly open but people in the know used it & dined in. The food it's self was well portioned, piping hot and very nice. My only criticism, if I have to make one, was that the fish batter was a bit greasy, but none of our party complained and we had 13 happy tummies! Thank you to The Cod Farther for our lovely supper.
