Came here after our local pub had an emergency in the kitchen & what a pleasant find!!! Parking available. Very chic vibe & ample seating inside & outside. The sunday roast was amazing - extremely generous portions & tasted better than most places. We had the chicken roast & a portion of crispy chilli chicken as a starter. Reasonable pricing. Service was really good & didnt have to wait a considerable amount of time despite being pretty busy. 100% recommending & defo coming back
Went with the partner for a roast dinner on a Sunday and unfortunately had to send the food back as the meat, vegetables and potatoes were all too chewy for the partner and myself to enjoy. Nice spacious garden. Good place to come for a drink.
Wonderful pub/lucky find! Great staff and very good food. Had an Estrella/lime cordial and had Duck Confit for main. The duck was perfectly cooked, fell off the bone. Healthy portions and very reasonably priced. Would go again when passing through!
Our second visit within the last couple of weeks, this time with four friends. All of us enjoyed an extremely nice meal and had a great time. The food was very good, the ambience excellent and the staff very professional. A special mention must go to our waitress Vicky; she was extremely polite, professional and personable. She was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, very friendly and ensured that everything we asked for was delivered to our table in a timely fashion. She, without a doubt helped to make our night an extremely pleasant experience. All of us have said we will be returning again. Would definitely recommend.
Loved it so much that we went back twice in one week. Delicious food - we really enjoyed the grazing plates. Dessert was excellent too. Really nice interior and very friendly, helpful staff. We took our children the second time we visited and they were made to feel very welcome. Highly recommended, we will be back soon!
I decided to go back to try the new menu after a few years of not going due to bad service and food not worth money I was paying for. Pleasantly surprised on this occasion! Food was good, and the service was much better. As it was good I thought I'd book Xmas meal for family that visited on 28th December. Should have read the reviews on roast dinners! Food was not worth the money, potato and carrots were hard. Terrible service and billed us again after already paying a deposit which had to be rectified. Spoke to the manager today and he said he wasn't there last night and will speak to the staff. He said we should have returned the food. The service was that bad there was no way we were going to wait for food and we had a two year old. Manager did call back and given back some of the money I paid for the meal and service charge.
Lovely relaxed lunch with friends. We were tucked away in the cosy snug. Food delicious - highly recommend the pressed pork. Veg perfectly cooked. Our table had Sunday roasts with impressive Yorkshire’s, fish and chips, very generously portioned and chicken burgers. Our waiter Sam was polite and efficient. Pub feels very festive with open fires, sofas and various dining areas. A lovely way to kick off the Christmas week. Reasonably priced. Highly recommend
Lovely pub! It has some nice sitting areas for couple as well as bigger groups. Nice atmosphere. We only had drinks so can’t comment on the food although I am told it is very nice. Small car park outside too
This restaurant is not good value for money. While it is nicely maintained and a pleasant atmosphere, the food is only average and the portions are a bit meagre; you get the impression that because they are in Brookman's Park, they do not need to try particularly hard. The 'butternut salad' sounded good, but it turned out to be a plate of charred root vegetables, with a sprinkling of lentils and a few sprigs of watercress... There is a restaurant in the plant nursery, across the road, which is much better value and a steak house, a few hundred yards further along the road, for meat lovers.
The food was ok but the service was great from the young blonde lady. I told her my steak was cold which can happen in busy restraunts and she immediately apologised and sent my steak back. She informed me a new fresh steak all the trimmings would be back in 7mins. When I got the new one it was nice and hot. GREAT GREAT SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION food average but SERVICE 5 STARS
