Great restaurant and a MUST Visit. We enjoyed the great service and the food was wonderful. The langoustines were so good that we had a second serve. The triple fried chips were yummy Hats off to the Chef, who is also the owner and his Better Half who is a great restaurant Manager.
One of the best restaurants we have had dinner during our trip in Scotland. Fresh ingredients, very good cooking, fair price. We tried to get back to this restaurants another day but had no booking. If you are in Oban and you like sea food. This is the one to go.
I’ve been there with friends, we shared three starters - grilled langoustines, scallops & bacon and the salmon - whereas I had the lamb rump as main. The starters were delicious, a special call out goes to the scallops with bacon, they were the highlight of the dinner by far. The lamb was also good, the meat and the sides were both tasty.
We had a wonderful lunch here today! With no pretension whatsoever this place serves perfectly cooked seafood dishes with friendly service at reasonable prices. The scallops, halibut and hake were fresh and delicious with layers of flavour. A wee gem!
Food is seasoned and cooked perfectly. I find their turfs better than their surfs, which is odd given that it's located in a major seafood town. A good steak requires no sauce, and they definitely accomplished this with their sirloin and veal.
The culinary highlight of our stay in Oban - the food was a beautiful marriage of flavours, presented elegantly in this intimate space. The langoustines were absolutely delicious, and the lamb was succulent too. We finished on the rhubarb and custard pie, and the lemon cream, both of which were a delight. Very good value for money, and well priced wines compared to other establishments in Oban. I would definitely recommend!
Just been for dinner. Excellent service from our very friendly waitress. Food was also very good, especially the seafood.
Staff were attentive and the food was excellent. I had scallops for my starter. They were seared perfectly and so sweet. For the main I had the halibut and risotto, also perfectly cooked. The one thing that was out of place was the bread basket. There were two pieces of bread: one white and one brown, but they felt like they could have come from a low quality supermarket loaf. I was expecting something more artisanal, like sourdough or baguette.
Absolutely beautiful meal. The light bite menu was excellent value too. Very friendly, efficient service. Booking highly recommended.
Excellent meal overall. The £20 Lite Bite is a great deal and was plenty of food. I got the butternut risotto, salmon main, and the dessert of the day chocolate walnut cheesecake. The risotto was creamy and delicious, the salmon was flavorful and perfectly cooked. Very impressed with the COVID measures that were taken. Would recommend booking, as this seemed to be a very popular place.
