A lovely, historic hotel in the beautiful town of Carnlough! The hotel was once owned by Winston Churchill and has a lot of charm. The service we got from the staff was outstanding! The food was some of the best we had on our trip. Enjoyed it quite a bit!Rooms: 3/5
Always pop in here for a meal...I love the lit, open fire. Food is good with friendly service. Denise runs a good place. I had a slight problem with my meal but it was sorted quickly and to my satisfaction.. we'll be back!Service: 4/5
Oh dear. Called in on a Monday afternoon for lunch. Our entrance caused a little confusion " are you here for the funeral?" No, we just wanted lunch. I'll have to check, she said. More senior lady asked if we were here with the funeral, "no"I said but did think of saying yes, just for a moment. She continued, we are closed, it's a private funeral. Perhaps a notice on the door, Closed for private function, would have saved a little embarrassment all round and left the mourners in peace. Our inconvenience was as nothing to their recent bereavement.
Old world charm. Antique furniture. Drinks at a roaring fire, relaxing music then through to 1st class lunch in dining room. Lovely staff - highly recommend.Service: 5/5
The room was very big, spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The food was nicely cooked traditional good food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It exceeded my expectations for sure!Rooms: 4/5
Beautiful old hotel. Lovely bar with some beautiful old tiles and furniture throughout. Stunning hanging baskets on at the front of the hotel. A wonderful spot and lovely to see it so well maintained.Rooms: 5/5
Just back home after spending a 2 night stay in this Hotel. We where made to feel so welcome when we arrived. Our room was a good size and at the front of the Hotel so we had a sea View. I must say that the cleaners should get a pay rise as everywhere was spotless. We had dinner on the 1st night and it was was the best roast beef we ever had. Every room downstairs had a roaring fire which was lovely to see and feel in this beautiful old fashioned Hotel. The only fault we had was our room was cold when we arrived. The staff were all so friendly and happy in their work. We will look forward to visiting again.
Nice hotel with old world charm, with a historical attachment to Winston Churchill. The "Arkle" bar was interesting with its horse racing theme and history of the famous racehorse of 1960s. Friendly staff and nice rooms. Good choice at breakfast. Enjoyed the local walks including Cranny Falls. Also ate there in the evening - good food and service.
Food good, welcome good, staff very friendly and attentive, nice cosy hotel. We had a good sized room. A little different from the ordinary. Highly recommendRooms: 5/5
