Larger than a normal Co-op store. Has a bigger range than most local stores and the fresh food seems pretty decent. It's still a far cry from it's competitors and I just don't think it can price match on Aldi or Tesco. It seems strange that it's one of only two stores of this nature in New Mills and both are the more expensive stores. Personally , I think it should be replaced with a more affordable shop but as far as Co-op go, it's a decent one.
Lactose intolerance is a health problem. Admirably, the Co-Op has an entire section for Gluten intolerance, but not a single Lactose free cheese. Veganism is a lifestyle choice. If a person decides to become a vegan, they must be prepared to go without dairy. Therefore, it is unacceptable for the Co-Op to provide multiple plant based cheese options for vegans, yet zero Lactose free cheeses. The co-op sells Lactose free milk, do why not cheese? Plant based cheeses are highly processed, unnatural in taste and texture, and not pleasant.
Went to get a meal deal today 27-06-2023 my eyes lit up like head lights my favourite Cornish pasty and only £2.30 and hot... well done co-op all the other places ranged between £3.50 and £5.50 yummy
Nipped in to hear two female members of staff near the bread name calling other members of staff. Only for them to smile at that member of staff "Hello". Turned to giggle like children. They must be 50+. Very unprofessional
Probably the friendliest co-op I’ve ever been to. Happy to be there and they are always happy to help and have a big smile on their face/s. I’m glad that we live so close.
A staff member in this place treated me horribly. When I politely said goodbye to them just before leaving the store, they said, ‘Did you say something? Just keep walking, okay?’ Appalled.
A medium size supermarket with good parking. Staff are generally helpful and friendly. I would say the Co op isn't the cheapest shop compared to Tescos and Aldi.
I’ve just been in here and bought some shopping and on the way out I meant to get some cash out of the cash machine not realising it had been taken out ages ago. I returned to the cashier who had just served me and asked if I could have some cash back. She said I would have to make a purchase. I pointed out that I had just spent £42 but she just stuck her bottom lip out and shook her head. She then said I would have to go and use the one at Lloyd’s bank. This will be the last time I go in here, I’d rather drive up to Tesco than be treated like this.
Terrible customer service from the store manager Darren. He falsely accused my wife of being a shoplifter because she was using her own Le Creuset shopping bag to gather her shopping whilst in the store. The fact is that the store is filthy and the baskets are never cleaned or have the handles wiped, so using the baskets provided is potentially a health hazard. Darren even made up a new Law, he said it was actually illegal to use your own shopping bag - get your facts straight before accusing people. My family and I have used the store for over 12 years and are Co-op card holders, I can guarantee that we will never set foot in there again.
Been going to this supermarket for a few weeks now.. Poorly run and poorly stocked. Outrageous prices to boot. Needs a good shakeup..until that happens I won't be using them again..
