Clean and tidy store with friendly staff. Has all the essentials. Has a small selection for craft beer fans. However you can't get away from the extortionate prices. You can tell there is not much in the way of competition.
Ballycastle store, young long dark haired Customer Service Assistant with glasses on 04.07.24 at 11.25am was very rude. I justed wanted to purchase a newspaper and was abruptly told 'with attitude' to join the queue! Only one other till was available with a queue of 6 customers with baskets. I then heard her laugh and comment about me to the next customer she served. I asked for her name and she refused to provide it. I spoke to Duty Manager Gareth and he dismissed my request too. I have managed many retail companies over the years. This level of service is very poor
If it's were only the staff and the store being scored it would be 5 plus. Under the circumstances of the last few months they have maintained their pleasant and helpful manner. However as far as the public who are shopping during this period, they are obviously exempt from following floor signals and directions from staff...and then continue to harass the staff by questioning there rules... these rules are there to protect this friendly well stocked shop whilst endeavouring the keep everyone safe including themselves.. So please be pleasant and follow the instructions in store for your sake and the sake of their families too. The staff are working hard to keep standards the same and I for one think they are doing a great job. Please support local businesses and thank them for doing a job a lot of others wouldn't
This store is in my opinion the most essential and busiest convenience retail outlet in Ballycastle, one of it biggest assets is the adequately stocked off license, with a wide ranging stock of affordable wines. Very impressed with the stores layout and staff's approach ability, very knowledgable about their stock and products offered to customers. All in all this store is a mainstay of this charming little visitor attraction of the north coast.
I love my co-op, its well stocked and generally has a good selection of food and goods. Fresh french breads in the morning and it has a good section of gluten free foods for Coeliac's. The off license is great and I think you'll find the tipple of choice. Seasonal selections are good and if you need flowers you should be able to find something to please someone special or indeed yourself if you love blooms. The co-operative is supportive of Charities.nParking is good limited time and it has a town centre location. Finally the staff are what completes the experience of shopping here, friendly, helpful and have time to chat with a smile or laugh which is very important.
