Pleasantly surprised by the length of our visit and the variety of plants to look at! Plus, we have been trying to spot a red squirrel for a long time with zero success... Saw two during our visit which was a lovely surprise!
Lovely hour walking around the garden this morning, watched the red squirrels too - absolutely delightful. £5 entry cash only is great value to see this lovely garden. The Cluny Tree is amazing too, I've never seen such a huge tree.
This is our favourite garden to visit in Scotland! It is actually an arboretum but the walk around the trees is magical! We were there in May this time and caught beautiful spring flowers! Amazing dedication from the owners!
Visited 12/05/24. Very relaxing and peaceful place to visit. The variety of plants is wonderful. There are 31 'waypointers' to follow as you go round. It's a steep site which you're informed of at the start, but the climb back up is worth it. Access is via a track with limited passing places and the car park is fairly small. Well worth it for a good old fashioned explore! £5 cash.
What a wonderous find this was. Although not terribly well sign posted and up a narrow lane with passing points does make you wonder where your heading , once you arrive you are presented with a wonderful garden. Entrance is £5 cash and then you are given some laminated notes and left to follow the numbered path. Not only is the selection of plants, flowers and trees excellent but there is a high chance of a red squirrel sighting as well as lots of bird life that you can sit and watch as they feed. It's delightful, the one caveat is that it is on the side of a hill, there are steps some quite steep that if you have mobility issues may possible limit some access to areas. This is a top site and well worth a visit
A wonderful garden to explore. The gardens being over 70 yrs old there is lots to take in. We loved the bird life and even got to see our first red squirrel. It was a nice stop on our travels to the highlands. At £5 entry it’s a bargain, you will need cash.
A wonderful eclectic mix of plants, shrubs and trees. The pathways are a delight, but you have to watch your footing! Highly recommended
A hidden gem. Well worth a visit. Some unusual plants and shrubs. Sit and watch the birds and red squirrels
What a delightful garden curated by wonderful, dedicated people; Wendy and John. It has to be said that for us, visiting from the South of England, the main draw was to see Red Squirrels, and we certainly were not disappointed! We saw some Reds even before we left the car park in front of the house! Delightful! Loads more inside the garden, especially around stop 5, by the giant Sequoia, which is also a lovely rest-stop on the nearby bench The walk around the garden is a peaceful delight, and there is plenty of bird-life as well as the chance to see Red Squirrels amongst the trees...
We had a great time here. We were so pleased to see red squirrels, so cute. The plant life is amazing, so much variety. I'm no horticulturist, but I do like looking at plants and trees. The sequoia trees are very beautiful and majestic; red woods are one of my favourite tree species. The grounds are well kept, but still have a rustic wild feel about them. Some areas are not suitable for those who have trouble walking, as the path in places is narrow and has different levels. It can get slippery when wet. For most people who have good footwear, it's ok. Highly recommend.
