Little hidden treasure! Spotted this place on the map and what a lovely bonus it was! Really eclectic collection but the period decor is stunning and I think there's something for everyone here. Shame they don't have a café but well worth a little trip, and I'm sure the grounds are lovely in the spring.
Really interesting place and well worth a visit. The exhibits were interesting for the most part, the collection of minerals and crystals, was a surprise and quite spectacular. The gardens are well kept with some beautiful trees and shrubs. We all loved the pond and fountain. There is a nice cafe with some really nice cakes and ice cream. As I said earlier it's well worth a visit.
Beautiful place to visit! Very accessible, lovely food & drinks from the cafe, clean park to walk round. The museum is brill & very diverse! Stained glass windows, minerals, taxidermy etc! Popped in for a wander and a coffee at 10 & I’m just leaving at 12.30 having had a perfect morning with my little boy. Thanks!
A lovely historical house to visit in the middle of the park. Very deceiving from the outside you think there's not much to it. But once you enter..it takes you back to the 1800s..such detail and magnificence to the preserved rooms..it really does deserve so much more. Definitely a must see for those who love a little local history.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo wait
What a lovely hidden gem to find! There was so much to see! We only managed the Pavilion, aviary, some of the park and the ground floor, but we'll be back to see the rest. I can't believe I hadn't heard of this place before?
This is a beautiful open space to visit and walk around or sit and enjoy the water features and flowers. An onsite cafe is a nice addition as well as an Aviary. One of the main attractions is the museum. Parking on site is limited but it is possible to park on the adjacent road. A hidden gem that is worth a visitVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
A great place to spend a couple of hours whatever the weather. The museum is rather like the TARDIS, bigger than expected once inside. Plenty to see and read in a traditional style museum, with plenty of exhibits reflecting the local heritage. The conservatory style cafe is lovely too. Not surprisingly well frequented. Good food and a bonus... raspberry jam provided, once asked for, in place of the ubiquitous strawberry jam!
It's free to enter the museum. A rather strange collection of random items. Big Park and reasonable tea rooms.Visited onWeekday
Beautiful, soothing place. Must visit but please keep it clean.
Took grandkids for a day out, didn't spend a penny, what a fantastic house all kids loved it, plenty to see in grounds and house
