He did pretty much the same to us . I lost out on £6000 , he was meant to come back and finish the rendering and never did , in my head I had held money back because he was meant to do the garden but I didn’t trust him in the end so I told him to leave it . He promised and promised and made all excuses under sun . In the end we had to get someone else to do it and asked him for the money . Not a chance ! After messages and letters recorded delivery . I have now reported him to trading standards and they will investigate
We employed Classic builders to do work on our home and was provided a quote. This included an extension to the back of the property and a full renovation to the property. Initially the communication and work was completed to a good standard, when we paid what Jerry asked for materials etc. When the amount owed was reducing due to us having to pay upfront Jerry stopped coming to the house for weeks on end and was demanding more money for the job to be finished... we paid a further £2500, which was left of the balance and sadly didnt see Jerry again, despite reassurance that he would finish the full job following our payment. We later found out that jerry went to spain on a family holiday with our £2500 instead. After he admitted he'd under quoted/over spent and couldnt finish the job we were then left with an unfinished home which we had to save for someone else to complete. 2months on, the cracks are starting to show. And we are now having to pay for a new roof as the one we paid Jerry for was botched and has leaked through our ceiling and ruined the plaster.
