I've been to Claremont many times and always had the best food and service. Always go there when my parents come down from cumbria Dad's a farmer and enjoys eating food that's sourced locally Though my reason for review is for this weekend we've been both Saturday and Sunday for brunch. The asparagus is absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. The staff are friendly and are working extremely hard. Today we got prime seats outside and after a stressful week at work, it was those simple pleasures that brought so much joy. Fresh produce, friendly staff, a visit to see the pigs, surrounded by other happy customers with friends and family. Wholesome, hearty 5 stars without a doubt!
There was a cracking classic car show today so ideal afternoon out. The farms hop looks food but expensive, not sure about the cafe.
As farm shops go, this one is fairly average. There's not much local produce - a lot of fruit and veg is from overseas - and the selection of bought-in items is rather mundane. Prices are really high though, so why pay through the nose for something that can be purchased for a lot less at a local supermarket - especially when the environmental impact is much the same.
Love the farm shop, specially their local produce. Had also seen breakfast reviews and decided to have breakfast. What a disappointment. Like the approach of starting with a base and adding to it. The mushrooms were great, and the baked beans. That's pretty much where it ended. The bacon would have been better on the bottom of my shoe. It was like it had been deep fried into oblivion. The sausage was not much better. Tea, toast and eggs ok. I've been back to the farm shop since, but have decided not to try lunch after the breakfast.
I understand it was a bank holiday Monday and was expecting it to be busy, however the service and restaurant were truly awful today. We only wanted drinks, and the service staff rolled her eyes when we said we didn't want food. Despite this, the lady came back and asked us three times. We felt pestered to order food. The two drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. Over £6 for a very very small coffee ordered a regular size but felt like an espresso size and a green tea seemed excessive. There were plates and dirty dishes everywhere, and food on the floor. The sun was blazing but the heater in the outside lean-to was on. Both tables next to us were complaining to staff to turn the heater off. Gave up waiting to pay at the table, so stood by the inside till with 5 other people trying to pay. The gentleman behind me commented that "they must not want our money". The food quality here may be good but the service is lacking. Don't look down on those getting drinks only, and ensure people can pay. Will use farm shop, but not the restaurant again.
There was a bit of a queue to get in due to an event but staff were positive and friendly. Toilets were clean. Tables in lean to were nice. Food really good and the breakfast idea is good so you don’t waste stuff you might not like as in other places. Adequate parking.
Visited a fabulous vintage car festival there yesterday. Gorgeous cars, well organised parking for visitors and a very busy farm shop and cafe. Missing one star in review as they could have had more variety re the food provision especially for vegetarians/vegans, as we struggled to find anything savoury to snack on.
Farm shop - 5/5 Farm shop service - 5/5 Cafe - 4/5 Cafe service - 1/5 It is such a shame to leave this review but it is honestly meant as constructive feedback. The staff members in the cafe are all over the place - one seats you, one eventually takes your order, one eventually brings your drinks after the food in our case, one eventually brings your food and getting one to ask for the bill is near enough impossible. Is it really rocket science to give each member of the team a section? It's been a tried and tested method for such establishments forever.
One of my favourite places to have lunch on the Wirral, food always fresh and delicious. The farm shop is not cheap but always high quality.
Great cafe area, dog friendly and excellent service by friendly helpful staff really nice food. Excellent farm shop so glad we visited will definitely be going again . It does get very busy because it's so popular so try to go off peak you'll find it worth it
