Cannot recommend enough! ken was absolutely brilliant at sorting all aspects of my car sale for me. 10/10 customer service all round! Was made to feel so welcome in the showroom, kept updated throughout the entire lengthy sale due to lockdown and couldn’t be any happier with my car or the service I received! X
AVOID - AWFUL SERVICE TEAM MANAGEMENT - NIL STARS Wanted buy duplicate stamped service book by phone & have posted to me. PENGELLY Service Manager - surname stated 'Service History Team’ would email within an hour citing email documents required. Upon my providing, would be done. 24 hrs later - no email. Pengelly failed to give Holly Service History Team my email address, Holly failed to ask him for it. Holly refused my phone call. Then sent voice message stating email requirements. Within 10 mins I provided plus dates/miles of services - I knew s/h just wanted duplicate stamped book. 4 hrs silence later, rang Holly for OK to buy book from parts for PENGELLY to stamp & post. Holly just gone home 4pm, PENGELLY refused to take my call. Passed from pillar to post for 20 mins - 4 different people, including 'Team Leader'. Until passed to LAWRENCE Senior Service Manager, surname, who stated duplicate stamped books could only be issued upon purchaser attending branch 46mls from my home. Astonishing confrontational exchange: as follows: Me - 'Please explain why both PENGELLY & Holly said it could be posted, but you now state the direct opposite. I have expended 3-4 hrs & much stress re this simple matter. LAWRENCE - I refuse to address those issues. Me - Please put me through to PENGELLY. LAWRENCE - I refuse to do so. I will also instruct PENGELLY to refuse to speak with you. Me - If that is the disgraceful situation I will have no alternative but to make a formal complaint direct to VW UK against you and your department. That complaint will include i the voicemail message Holly left stating what email documents were required to enable posting of a stamped service book ii my recording of this conversation LAWRENCE - 'Do it' So today I will lodge a formal complaint to:- a J. Swift, CEO Citygate Automotive Ltd b R. McLeod, Director, VW UK Pursuant to which I shall ensure that I contact & speak directly by phone with both a & b above AVOID - AWFUL SERVICE TEAM MANAGEMENT – NIL STARS
Great Dealer, Excellent service from Jake and Matt. Despite the current COVID complications, their service was second to none. Found the car I wanted, looked at it on Sunday, paid deposit on Monday Morning and had the finance approved a few hours later. Collected the car on Tuesday afternoon with no more than 15 minutes worth of paperwork to sort out. All in all, would definitely purchase another vehicle from them, the process was quick and easy, not the norm amongst car dealerships these days. A massive thanks.

We purchased our VW Tiguan from here in April 2018. The front seatbelts malfunction in warm weather. We are unable to use the seatbelts as they lock in the heat. The car does not drive unless the seatbelts are locked in. We have 3 children and we have resorted to strapping the seatbelt behind the headrest to allow enough extension. There has been a continuous oil leak which independent garage and VW have not been able to resolve see review for VW Hatfield. The latest is that we took to VW Citygate Watford and they have not been able to resolve. They are due a review too. Whilst talking to VW customer care, I was informed that it looks like there was an oil leak issue before purchasing this car. So, this dealership sold me a car with an oil leak and seatbelts which malfunction. WARNING: If you are thinking of buying a VW car, be very very wary. The customer service is appalling and they like to make the point that it is franchises and VW customer care are just the middle men. Also, pay no attention to the 'German engineering' nonsense. It's human beings, and humans are full of errors. DURCHT SPRUNG TECH....ah, seatbelt malfunction in warm weather!!!
We had such a positive experience with the team at Citygate VW. Buying a car is a bit out of comfort zone, but they put me at ease and were extremely welcoming and knowledgable. Big thanks to Will Day for taking me through the process with care and for getting me a great deal on a car I didn't know I could afford! We are absolutely delighted, thanks again!

Took my Volkswagen Golf in last month as there was a noise coming from the suspension, from the moment I walked in the door I was very impressed with the service, they were all welcoming and made sure my experience was great!, I would like to say a massive thank you to the master tech who took time to come out on road test with myself and a big thank you to Daniel Witney for making sure my car was done as we waited for the repair work to be done. Top class service - highly recommend

Had my car in for its first service recently and I can't fault the service to arrange the service, however the workmanship of the service was poor. The same night I received my car back it broke down as whoever did the service didn't replace a part correctly a simple clip. I called to make this known the next day and I was told the manager would call me back......I'm still waiting. Continuation: So they got back to me on the back of this review, to say that the Service Reception Manager would contact me as a matter of urgency.......that was May the 24th. I'm still waiting. Clearly customer service is not a priority here.
