A small airport but well set out. Getting through security was a breeze. The cafe is reasonably priced and the shop is what you would expect, mainly for tourists, I didn't see any duty free but that might be due to the destinations. There are only two gates and it looks like the aircraft come up to the door. I think the more it is used then the more flights will develop.
Derry airport has to be one of the smallest airports I’ve ever flown from before. The staff were super kind and friendly, security was a breeze. There is a bar/cafe which has good offerings and a shop offering nice souvenirs and snacks with a lovely cashier to help. The cleanliness was excellent, the atmosphere was peaceful and friendly. Huge thanks to all the amazing staff.
5 * airport.nnAn excellent petite airport with an increasing number of destinations. easyJet now fly twice a week to Edinburgh and three times during the summer. It is a nice size and so passengers don't have to walk for miles to the gate. However plan ahead and you can tell how big the queue might be by the number of departing flights and allow extra time. Staff are very friendly and helpful.nnConnections for transport need to be planned as there are limited connections but there are taxis. I use enterprise car hire which is offsite but they are excellent and pick up/drop off as requirednnI must mention the very comfortable lounge when you arrive. It's more of a hotel lobby than an airport with comfy seats. Very welcome!
This is a small airport handling fewer than ten flights a day. Some parts of the day it’s completely empty. And it’s lovely. Calm, relaxing and everything works. Take a friend!
You would think an airport with so few flights would focus on good customer service for the few customers they do have. However easyJet staff yesterday 26/1/26 boarding for the Edinburgh morning flight seemed intent on causing as much disruption and aggravation as possible for passengers.nnI paid extra for a larger bag but was told as I didn’t download an up to date boarding pass I would have to pay it again, when I showed her the transaction on my online banking she replied “that could be for anything” the exact same price of booking a larger bag through easyJet, she was intent on arguing and making me repay before eventually telling me to go on the app and the new boarding pass would be there..why this wasn’t communicated in the first instance is beyond belief.nnI’m a regular passenger between Edinburgh and City of Derry/Belfast airports and have never been spoken to like this before, especially when the situation could’ve been resolved so easily without the arrogance and unhelpful responses.nnI have thoroughly enjoyed travelling to Derry airport previously and it would be my first choice of airport to play a small part in helping to secure the long term stability of the airport however after so much commotion I will seriously consider going via Belfast in the future.nnI would rather say nothing than leave a bad review. I’ve never left a bad review anywhere on any of my previous posts however the complete arrogance and obnoxiousness of this particular staff member is deserving of one.
