Food was good and authentic - there are several bento box lunch options and each of them had plenty of food for one. Service staff were Japanese - they were all courteous and polite. The food was a bit slow being served. The place is hidden downstairs and can be hard to find. Decor a bit dated.
A really good authentic Japanese restaurant tuck in an alley. Highly recommended as the food here is really authentic. Service was impeccable as well. You will notice a lot of Japanese expats eating here.
Went to dinner with family. It was absolutely fantastic food. Authentic and delicious. Very reasonably priced and worth every penny and more. Eel is just absolutely perfect. You can’t miss.
This is the second time I have been to Miyama. I ordered two dishes, agedashi tofu and nabeyaki udon. The nabeyaki udon is nicely, tender, not chewy. Soup is plain in its simplicity with tempura prawn, chicken and fish. The agedashi tofu was good but overpacked slightly. All the staff are Japanese, from front of house to sushi maker - adding to the authentic atmosphere. Overall, a cosy, subdued atmosphere made the place a little haven tucked away from the busy streets of metropolitan London.
Excellent experience! Service was of high standard as well as the food. Fantastic selections of sake as well! Went with a friend for my birthday. Theyre extra care and attention made it quite special! Will return in the future.
Great experience, lovely food, nice selection. The downstairs area could use some better decor but that doesn't take away from the taste. Price is also pretty fair.
Love the place. AUTHENTIC Japanese food, food are very delicates to high quality. I felt that I was eating in japan. Prices were reasonable and service is good. I am here every time I visit London.
Wow, what can I say about this place other than it is possibly some of the most amazing Japanese food I’ve had in London. Tucked off in a side street from St Paul’s with most of it on a basement and sub basement level, it is fairly traditional in decor, service and dishes offered, with a large selection of sake and other beverages. The restaurant is split into two levels, with the upstairs containing a teppanyaki area and more seating downstairs, no low tables or tatami seating unfortunately. Food is on the costly side, however, you do get what you pay for, the quality is absolutely amazing and the portions are fairly generous.
One of the best places I ate sushi and sashimi at. Never disappoints. I'm regular here and I highly recommend Miyama.
Good value lunch deal in a tranquil setting. Authentic Japanese restaurant earning the patronage of many Japanese bankers and businessmen. Table next to us had a huge spread of sushi - will no doubt be coming back for that
